Founded in 2014 in Chicago by cousins Jared Rouben (Brewmaster) and Jeremy Cohn (CEO), Moody Tongue is built on the philosophy of culinary brewing, appealing to those with a discerning palate or, as Rouben describes, a "moody tongue." Utilizing his extensive culinary background and brewing education, Rouben approaches brewing with a chef's mindset. In 2019, the brewery relocated and expanded to launch two dining concepts: (1) a lively, à la carte restaurant, THE BAR, and (2) an elevated, intimate fine dining restaurant, THE DINING ROOM, helmed by Executive Chef James Bingham.     Omgosh...we stumbled onto this place on a snowy day...love it! Our waiter was great, food was quick and delicious. And the beer....didn't have one I didn't like:) A win win kinda place! Thanks for being so kind to the Canadians;) We enjoyed the shot of Malort!

    The food was amazing I brought my husband out for his birthday, we truly enjoyed ourselves kudos to the chef. Great customer service for our waitress Ms. Clare. We would highly recommend the food as well as the atmosphere

    The beers were amazing! The different flavor combinations were subtle, yet distinctive. We started with the cheese plate, which was very tasty. A nice mix of soft and firm cheeses that complimented each other. Each of your main meals held wonderful flavor surprises. I would highly recommend the short ribs, the duck, and the mushroom pot pie! To finish off our meal we had coffee and a slice of their chocolate beer cake! We shared the cake amongst the three of us! The server was very attentive and allowed us plenty of time to explore the menu. I’ll be coming back to Forbidden Root!!! Also, a big shout out to Check Please! Great choice!
