Fine Italian food in the very centre of Birmingham is Cucina Rustica's trademark, a comfortable, atmospheric Italian restaurant popular with both locals and tourists visiting this vibrant city. Although modern and slick in its execution, the choice of deep earthy colours and moody lighting, tactile materials such as wood and stone and the addition of characterful contemporary art and healthy, verdant plants give Cucina Rustica that slight traditional feel suggested by its name and a certain cosiness that gives it a home from home feel. Attention to detail is in every little touch here at Cucina Rustica, from the single rose placed on each table to the complementary olives produced on every guest's arrival. Equally, food is produced with great care, dishes traditionally Italian but done with flair and a certain amount of style, some unusual choices offered alongside classic favourites, all from the classic Italian cookbook and accompanied by a wide array of drinks.

Lovely food, really fast service. from walking in to our mains arriving was less Than 30 mins wait on a busy night on valentines day, would definitely recommend and go again.

Great service and amazing food! The wine was a little bit of a let down as there was not much sweet wine option but nonetheless had an amazing time

We were running late and the restaurant was very accommodating for which I was very grateful. It was Valentine’s Day so very busy. The ambience was warm and busy. Service was great. Food was nice but would recommend added touches such as different mushrooms for the risotto, some greens. Good range of wines.

Went on Valentines, despite it being very busy the food was amazing, with little wait. Service was very good.

Me and my partner went for valentines evening. As soon as we arrived we were struck by how great the service was. A warm welcome and a quick and friendly service. We had drinks and our food orders were taken within 10 minutes of being seated. Even though it was extremely busy we didn’t have to wait or ask for anything but also didn’t feel rushed. The food was delicious paired with a beautiful bottle of gavi di gavi. I can’t recommend Cucina Rustica enough! Thanks guys for a fabulous evening you were superstars!

arrived 10 minutes early and got seated straight away, menus easy to read and alot of options. starters were super, really recommend the calamari. my boyfriend had the spaghetti carbonara for mains,and said it was immaculate.he really enjoyed it. i went for the caprese pizza, again so good. we both went for this chocolate dessert which was delicious. overall a really great valentines meal. highly recommend!

My wife and I had a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner. We started with calamari and a fish cake, both of which were delicious. For the main course, we had ribeye steak, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The red wine (Primitivo) paired beautifully with the meal. We ended with a refreshing lemon sorbet for dessert. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff, and the atmosphere was fantastic—perfect for a special evening. However, it was pricey.

This place is lovely. Suitable for couples, friends and families. The atmosphere is lovely, it’s immaculate, menu choices great! And it has the best desserts menu of any Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to. The portion sizes are perfect and we enjoyed every morsel of the high quality food. We will definitely be back!

A colleague and I were staying in Birmingham due to a work related event and didn’t fancy eating at the hotel. I found this restaurant online booked a table for 7pm. Booking was quick and easy, and I received confirmation by email almost immediately! On approaching the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised by the external appearance and were happy to discover that the interior was well laid out and aesthetically pleasing. Considering that it was a midweek evening, it was fairly busy, but we were seated quickly and provided with menus. Drinks were delivered promptly and once we’d ordered our meals it wasn’t long before they arrived. The spaghetti bolognaise was rich and savoury and my colleague was extremely pleased with the pizza she’d ordered. We opted for coffees rather than desserts. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and would definitely recommend this restaurant.
