Hilton Head Island's destination for beef & seafood lovers, Crane's Tavern & Steakhouse serves only the finest USDA Prime Grade Beef & fresh local seafood. An old English bar & heart of pine floors create the setting with warm, inviting service & an award-winning wine list.
The restaurant represents 4 generations & over 100 years of restaurateurs in the Crane family dating back to 1908, when an Irish immigrant, Frank Crane founded Crane's Tavern in Philadelphia. After prohibition Frank's son, Francis & his brothers opened the famed establishment at 333 Queen Lane, where his son, Hank worked until 1969. That year Hank ventured out on his own & opened a Crane's Tavern in Ambler, PA. & then purchased the Surf City Hotel on Long Beach Island, NJ creating yet another establishment with the Crane namesake. In 1999 he & his daughter, Beth Anne opened Crane's Tavern & Steakhouse on Hilton Head Island, SC where it has become a local favorite

                                                                        Outstanding as always! NYStrip was perfect! My wife’s Crab cakes, the best ever! Service just as good as the food! Highly recommend!

                                                                        We were celebrating my retirement and had an excellent meal. 6 oz. filet for me and crab cakes for my husband. Wonderful scalloped potatoes and creamed spinach. And the bread pudding of the day was Bailey's and chocolate chip - YUM! A delightful evening overall, and not as crowded as we had expected.

                                                                        Food and server were outstanding, but the hostess could be heard being extremely rude to employees and swearing as she worked her way through the restaurant. She actually told one server not to offer ice water to clients unless they requested it. Didn’t hear the reason why, but she first was heard by clients in the restaurant and, secondly, it’s 90+ degrees outside and she doesn’t want to offer water? We’ll go back for the food and service, but the hostess needs to be much more professional.

                                                                        Food — Steaks(ribeye,filet) and Chop - 2 overcooked , 1 undercooked - the steaks were under seasoned and no flavor waited a while for them Waitress asked what she could do, but after the wait we were in no mood to begin the process again The restaurant is living off its past reputation unfortunately. Also, had mentioned it was a special occasion, they offered to do something special at time of reservation - but no mention at time of dinner

                                                                        Always visit while in Hilton Head. The New York strip was cooked to absolutely perfection as was the wife’s salmon. The sides excellent as well. Attentive staff - just a lovely experience all round
