Le Coyote Cafe, qui fête ses 29 ans, est toujours le restaurant le plus célèbre de Santa Fe ! Parmi les plats incontournables, se trouvent le foie gras & coquille Saint-Jacques façon pêcheur, la salade César au Futomaki et la légendaire entrecôte « Coupe Cow-boy » de 680 grammes, clin d'œil à l'héritage du Sud-Ouest. Diverses spécialités contemporaines sont également proposées, notamment le filet de Wapiti au poivre, la queue de homard grillée sur du bois de mesquite, la salade au thon hawaïenne et, bien sûr, le Mac 'n Cheese au piment vert. La carte des vins médaillés - comportant des vins difficiles à trouver comme le Sine Qua Non - est complétée par un bar qui prépare des cocktails signature. En été, la cantine installée sur le toit-terrasse sert des spécialités de nouvelle cuisine mexicaine et des cocktails, dans un cadre décontracté en plein air (seulement pour les clients sans réservation).

We sat at the bar. Jeremy was great. Food was outstanding. Recommend the beet and burrata salad and the elk tenderloin.

Our group of 5 was well taken care of by Ally, one of the best wait staff we’ve had in ages. And everyone else who served us was great too, attentive and friendly. The food was creative and delicious. The drinks were special. The dining space was relaxing, quiet, and full of art. We all had a memorable time and would certainly recommend.

The grilled Maine lobster tails arrived cold, and were so small that it seems unlikely they were legally fished. The Vietnamese sweet chili sauce that was supposed to be an accompaniment was nowhere in evidence. While the service was friendly, it was not especially attentive. For example, we had to ask for the cornbread that had been promised but did not arrive with the meal.

On our Saturday date night, time stood still at Coyote Cafe. We were welcomed by every staff member as the sparkling red 600 piece glass chandelier sent out radiant hints of surprises. Now that we think about it, maybe that’s why they call it the Coyote Cafe, full of surprises. Visiting from the plains, there was nothing plain about savory Kabocha Squash soup with marvelous pinyon nuts, with just the right swirl of chili and sweet corn biscuits on the side. Next, the beets and burrata appetizer lived up to its beautiful swirled presentation. With great expectations then, one of us had quail and the other had sea bass. Our taste bud expectations were exceeded. Not only were both dishes pleasing to look at, they were layered with unusual flavors. Quail plus… and sea bass over squash and …. Now we were faced with the ultimate dilemma. One of our top five meals ever, yet dessert was highly recommended by our server, Simon. We are so glad we followed his advice, and had a lemon cake that is both sweet and tart, as well as a uniquely not over sweet. Simon also surprised us with a special caramelized banana cream pie. So we celebrated our engagement trip here, many many years ago, with such great food it was as if it had all been prepared just for us. We will be back to treat ourselves, now that we feel even younger.

We arrived and a little early and they accommodated us extremely well. Had a great table our server Simon was fantastic. No matter how busy you got or how much time we took he was attentive and informative and very pleasant. The food was fantastic. The service and ambience was wonderful. We definitely come back here again.

My expectations were to be wowed by every dish which is in retrospect unfair. I would have given 5 stars for the food if this was a new and upcoming restaurant. The service was impeccable. The art and chandeliers surrounding the dining room were superb. I did enjoy my evening. I will return but order different dishes next time. The beets in the beet and buratta were slightly less than ripe. The prawns in the prawns appetizer were barbecued well but did not have much flavor. The lobster tails were cooked perfectly but my expectations were for a new and exciting sauce.
