We recently enjoyed three days at the Taconic Hotel and ate every meal at the Copper Grouse. The food is wonderful but it is the service that is truly outstanding. Lia kindly recognized our anniversary with a complimentary bubbly wine for toasting. Sunny greeted us and our dog each morning like long lost friends. It made a fun three days that much better to have the food, staff and ambience of this restaurant at our doorstep. We especially appreciate all the local ingredients!

Next time please have hot soup on the menu like vegetables or chicken noodle

The ambiance is very nice, however, the food just misses the mark. The flavors were off across the board. We had the bolognese- which had little flavor with just crumbled sausage in butter. The salad dressing was runny and had an odd flavor. The cheese selection was good, but very small given the price. Would not go back soon.

We had a perfect weather night for outside eating. Our service and waitress was top notch and food delicious.

We were really looking forward to dining at the Copper Grouse, as we couldn’t get in last year when we visited Manchester. We were seated at a low table per our needs, so we couldn’t sit in the bar area, which seemed quieter, as it was all high tops. The cozy, clubby pictures of the place did not match the noisy (families with children in pjs), brightly lit room that greeted us. Our waitress was great. The wine by the glass was good, but overpriced at $18. The iced tea was $8. We knew the entrees were priced high, but we expected it as the advertising presented a menu of farm to table food, prepared by a great chef. I had trout, I asked that no garlic be in the sauce, but I wanted sauce . I received no sauce. The trout was very dry. It was taken back, brought out again with a bit of melted butter, still no sauce. The vegetables had no seasoning. My husband had the duck and sausage pasta, mostly pasta, very little duck or sausage. Both dishes were priced high, and we expected a gourmet experience. This food was a cafeteria level experience. All for over $150. All very disappointing.

The menu was great-with a standout being the appetizer of tomatoes, ricotta on grilled bread. The pasta dish was very good, as was the cod. The only things that didn’t make it fantastic were: —the poor music choice blasted. It felt like a pub. —The decor was nice, but very formulaic, again like a less expensive pub. The prices ($$$)and environment did not match.

For a hotel the food was decent. As a local, The dessert offerings were subpar at best. The risotto was under cooked and bit. The burger patty was way too small for that much bun! The chicken dish was good chicken was tender. The cocktail offering however was amazing. My cocktail was delicious! Service was ehh- she probably was busy- took too long to get your cocktail order- I would explore this establishment again but not in any rush.
