The long established tradition of Afternoon Tea has been wonderfully preserved at Ashford Castle since 1868 - you’ll notice the original silver tea set displayed in the Connaught Room, which was presented to Lord and Lady Ardilaun to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in 1896. With spectacular views from the comfort of the castle’s elegant interior, take your time to savour every delicious moment.

The Afternoon Tea menu offers guests a wide selection of speciality teas or perhaps a glass of Champagne, delicate finger sandwiches, warm freshly baked scones with lashings of cream and home-made jam, not to mention our tasty pastries. It’s the perfect way to spend a leisurely afternoon with friends.

Please note that all visitors will be directed to our car park located across the bridge and a shuttle will be provided. Should there be any delays please call the hotel.

Amazing experience. They gave us a lovely table by the window, brought extra sandwiches when I asked. And Holly our server was supper pleasant and informative. Already planning to go back with more family members.

Perfect in every way! From the cordial greeting at the gate as we drove onto the grounds, through all the staff, we were made to feel so welcome. Food was superb, view from the table was lovely - overlooking gardens and the lake. Always a wonderful treat.

Beautiful experience looking out on a misty Lough Corrib. The service was excellent and it capped off a wonderful experience that we'll remember for years to come. The savoury, sweet treats & scones were absolutely delicious.
