Clos Maggiore est une oasis de calme au cœur de Covent Garden. Influencé par les auberges de campagne stylisées de Provence et de Toscane ses intérieurs uniques créent une chaleur et une intimité qui plaisent tant aux gens d'affaire qu'aux particuliers. La véranda a un toit en verre entièrement rétractable créant un espace salle à manger lumineux et aéré, particulièrement agréable pendant les saisons de printemps et d'été. Il se transforme en soirée par l'utilisation de bougies, la lueur des étoiles et un feu crépitant pendant les mois d'hiver. Le Chef de cuisine Marcellin Marc propose une sublime cuisine d'inspiration provençale avec un panache contemporain. Marcellin est déterminé à utiliser des ingrédients locaux et saisonniers pour créer des menus parfaitement équilibrés qui se sont mérités trois rosettes - AA depuis 2008. La vaste cave du Clos Maggiore compte plus de 2000 crus et a été bonifiée plus tôt cette année pour inclure 400 vins supplémentaires à des prix allant d'accessible - à moyen de gamme. Nous sommes très fiers d'avoir obtenu le "Best of Award of Excellence" sans interruption depuis 2003 attribué par le Wine Spectator.

    This is a delightful restaurant hidden away in the heart of Covent Garden. On a chilly January day, the warm welcome was matched by a roaring fire, welcoming and cosy. This must be one of the prettiest restaurants in London with its blossom and tiny lights it always feels special. The staff are very attentive and the food is always a very high standard beautifully presented. Lunchtime they offer a fixed two or three course menu which is good value for money.

    Service was outstanding, food quality and presentation was great and the ambiance is lovely. The impressive wine list makes me want to do a repeat visit soon. Highly recommended.

    Do not recommend if you are going for birthday celebration. I have messaged the restaurants twice to confirm if there is a birthday cake like other restaurants that would normally offer. The staff replied saying there will be a birthday plate but turns out there is no cake but two chocolates in it. I have to order another souffle instead as there is no cake across the whole menu. But then, the staff says there is no candle available in the restaurant as the candle might burn the tree on the ceiling. Overall, food and serive are fine. But, I do not consider it is a good restaurant for birthday/ any other celebration.

    Overall not bad. Was a very small very quiet room so was good for talking but only 4 other tables were there and they were all very close together with no music. Staff were pleasant enough although for a Sunday night they gave us a 2 hour turnover time. I did ask if they could do anything about that and they never got back to me. They brought the bill before I ask as I imagined they had people waiting so felt slightly rushed but they didn’t really mention anything so didn’t mind . Food was decent but quite overpriced and I was told we had to order a minimum of 2 mains even though we would have rather tried some more starters and shared. They had a very extensive wine list which was impressive but my date didn’t want to drink so I guess I didn’t really get to fully experience this aspect of the restaurant. The steak tartar was very cold like freezing when it came out and would have preferred chilled as the temperature cut through everything in the dish. The crab tarts starter was lovely though. The chicken was a little dry and the jus was poured next to it and not over it so it didn’t have a lot of flavour. The carrots were a little tough but the sauce was fine. The Jerusalem artichoke gateau was again decent but the sauce poured on the side of the plate for us so had to kind of wipe it up when eating it.

    This is a charming restaurant and the food is delicious. beautifully presented and knowledgeably served. The wine list is substantial and caters for pockets of every size. Our party had 4 very different wines and they were all excellent. We will return soon.
