Clos Maggiore est une oasis de calme au cœur de Covent Garden. Influencé par les auberges de campagne stylisées de Provence et de Toscane ses intérieurs uniques créent une chaleur et une intimité qui plaisent tant aux gens d'affaire qu'aux particuliers. La véranda a un toit en verre entièrement rétractable créant un espace salle à manger lumineux et aéré, particulièrement agréable pendant les saisons de printemps et d'été. Il se transforme en soirée par l'utilisation de bougies, la lueur des étoiles et un feu crépitant pendant les mois d'hiver. Le Chef de cuisine Marcellin Marc propose une sublime cuisine d'inspiration provençale avec un panache contemporain. Marcellin est déterminé à utiliser des ingrédients locaux et saisonniers pour créer des menus parfaitement équilibrés qui se sont mérités trois rosettes - AA depuis 2008. La vaste cave du Clos Maggiore compte plus de 2000 crus et a été bonifiée plus tôt cette année pour inclure 400 vins supplémentaires à des prix allant d'accessible - à moyen de gamme. Nous sommes très fiers d'avoir obtenu le "Best of Award of Excellence" sans interruption depuis 2003 attribué par le Wine Spectator.

Overall not bad. Was a very small very quiet room so was good for talking but only 4 other tables were there and they were all very close together with no music. Staff were pleasant enough although for a Sunday night they gave us a 2 hour turnover time. I did ask if they could do anything about that and they never got back to me. They brought the bill before I ask as I imagined they had people waiting so felt slightly rushed but they didn’t really mention anything so didn’t mind . Food was decent but quite overpriced and I was told we had to order a minimum of 2 mains even though we would have rather tried some more starters and shared. They had a very extensive wine list which was impressive but my date didn’t want to drink so I guess I didn’t really get to fully experience this aspect of the restaurant. The steak tartar was very cold like freezing when it came out and would have preferred chilled as the temperature cut through everything in the dish. The crab tarts starter was lovely though. The chicken was a little dry and the jus was poured next to it and not over it so it didn’t have a lot of flavour. The carrots were a little tough but the sauce was fine. The Jerusalem artichoke gateau was again decent but the sauce poured on the side of the plate for us so had to kind of wipe it up when eating it.

This is a charming restaurant and the food is delicious. beautifully presented and knowledgeably served. The wine list is substantial and caters for pockets of every size. Our party had 4 very different wines and they were all excellent. We will return soon.

Lovely ambience and decor. Polite and welcoming staff provided good customer service. Food tastes amazing. Finally, good selection of wines. Highly recommended.

My husband and I visited Clos Maggiore yesterday for a late celebration of our 22nd anniversary, and it was nothing short of perfection! This was our second time dining at this gem of a restaurant, and once again, it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was enchanting. The intimate, romantic setting, especially under the stunning conservatory with twinkling lights, made the evening feel so special. The service was impeccable—attentive, warm, and professional without ever being intrusive. And the food? Absolutely divine. Every dish was a work of art, from presentation to taste. Each bite was a testament to the chef’s skill, with bold flavors and perfectly balanced textures. The attention to detail was remarkable, and it truly made the evening unforgettable. Thank you, Clos Maggiore, for making our celebration so memorable. We can’t wait to return again for another special occasion!

Restaurant is beautifully decorated. Great selection of wines and fine spirits. Services was excellent. I tried the pre-theatre menu. The venison was delicious!

Professional service from start to finish. A glass of Prosecco was a welcome start to the fixed price meal. Carefully prepared dishes were focussed and precise. The veloute was creamy, the pork belly was succulent but not fatty, the venison was tender and pink. Four (different) puddings were idiosyncratic and delicious. The wine list is comprehensive and an Australian Chardonnay was ripe, fruity and good value. Coffee came with petit fours.

Unfortunately not as good as usual. Service was very polite but slow. Bread & Butter pudding very disappointing. First served cold then the second time the temperature was fine but it was heavy and stodgy and definitely needed a sauce. Overall disappointing and not the usual standard. We are coming again twice in the next few weeks and sincerely hope it will improve!
