Cette ancre de Little Italy axée sur le développement durable est une ode à la Calabre. Le chef Pietro Gallo prépare des fruits de mer typiques du sud de l'Italie, ainsi qu'un rare menu entièrement végétalien comprenant des lasagnes au ragoût sans viande. Ce sont les classiques de la nonna réinterprétés pour les habitants de San Diego soucieux de leur santé.

Great food, great service, creative cocktails and a great wine list. Our group was very happy with everything and our vegan friend was thrilled to have several really great options to choose from. We’d highly recommend Civico 1845 for higher end Italian dining.

Our waiter was attentive and the food was very good. Would prefer anchovies for the caesar salad but the dressing was good and the lettuce was crisp. Meatball Polpette appetizer is a must. The focaccia was awesome!

I think my expectations were high for the first time dining here and all the good reviews surrounding Civico. Unfortunately I wouldn’t say it didn’t live up to the hype. Service was terribly slow. Our server was nice but she didn’t check in very often. Secondly we ordered apps, pasta (primi) and fish (secondi) as the main expecting the dishes to be coursed out. The apps came out and then the pasta and fish came out together and it felt rushed and not what we had expected. I ordered caponata as an app but it more closely resembled stewed veggies and not a real caponata. The pasta was overcooked and mushy but the seafood in the pasta and sauce was flavorful. Our branzino was tender but no seasoning. I would have expected a little salt or even olive oil on the fish. Best part of dinner was the negroni!

We sat inside and it was very loud. It was hard to have a conversation. The food was good but the wine was just okay. People were dressed very casually and it is not an elevated dining experience. Nice for a weeknight quick meal.

Loved the pasta. I had the lasagna which, while looking humongous, was not overfilling at all. My wife’s pappardelle was exceptional as well. The dessert was small but delicious. Our salad was flavorful but was somewhat marred by a bunch of wilted greens. Service was very friendly and fast, though there was an employee support fee added on the check that was not disclosed online or on the menu.

Food was really good. Table was wobbly but we enjoyed the scenario. I recommend this place for some good Italian food. I’ll go again easy.

1pm on a Thursday the spot is very accessible and there was no problem securing the ideal table for our bday party. Everyone ordered from the vegan menu and everyone was very excited about the food. The squash flowers did not have a stuffing that resembled ricotta cheese. I loved them but some felt the description was misleading. They read the notes on my reservation and where accommodating. They made this bday lunch pleasant and enjoyable for all. Thank you Civico!

Poppin’ place, but not just bc of the location, but bc they have pretty darn good food and service. Glad we made reservations bc it was busy indoors and outdoors. The hubby and I each had a cocktail, corked a bottle of our own wine (corkage is $20), shared a rather large app and plate of pasta, as well as a dessert. I snapped photos of most of our food including our half-eaten pasta. They have complimentary focaccia bread with a lovely green dip. I used the bread and dipped it into our pasta sauce. Great for date night, friends, or family. They have a pretty spacious patio area as well. Would definitely go back again.
