Chef de cuisine : Pietro Gallo - Enrico De Santis

Cette ancre de Little Italy axée sur le développement durable est une ode à la Calabre. Le chef Pietro Gallo prépare des fruits de mer typiques du sud de l'Italie, ainsi qu'un rare menu entièrement végétalien comprenant des lasagnes au ragoût sans viande. Ce sont les classiques de la nonna réinterprétés pour les habitants de San Diego soucieux de leur santé.

We loved the fact that Civico 1845 had a separate vegan menu and even clearly marked which wines on the wine list were vegan as well. We had a great experience. The food and service were excellent.

Made a reservation for a Thursday at 9 PM, and was informed by the restaurant at no earlier than 8:30 PM that night that the restaurant was closing at 9 PM. Was able to order entrees but was rushed out shortly after, significantly limiting our experience. Wish the restaurant had thought this through, as we were very excited about the menu and in the end felt like a problem to be solved by the wait staff.

Really enjoyed an Amaretto sour, Calamari/shrimp and zucchini fritti, focaccia with basil dip. We would give 5 stars for these; the homemade tagliatelle pasta dish and whole grilled branzino we enjoyed but were not as good as the other items we tried, 4*. Noisy after the first hour, service sort of rushed. Would go back again to try the vegan dishes, other menu items.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience celebrating our anniversary. From the hostess (sorry can’t remember her name) who greeted us with a warmth feeling, to our server James who is an exceptional server (listen to his recommendations when you go) to the manager stopping by and talking with us. Overall a great experience and we are looking forward to returning.

Our party of 5 was sat a 2 uneven table with one person sitting at the end with no leg room and a table base inches away. When asking the staff what could be done , response was this is how our tables are. Wine and after dinner drinks were brought warm, with no thought of chilling or serving then at an acceptable temperature ( it was a hot night weather wise). Food was ok but nothing special. Overall , no reason to return.

We have dined here a few times but this was far and away the best it's ever been! They have a lovely assortment of vegan options, including wines and desserts. The service was warm and welcoming, the ambience charming and the food absolutely delicious. Looking forward to our next visit.
