Great Thai shrimp salad and bruschetta! The crab cakes were delicious, but pricey. The side dish of fries with the crab cakes didn’t make up for the high price. I’d rather have had some green veggies. Hot for outside seating, but quieter than inside on a Friday night! All in all, a great place near the Foggy Bottom Metro.

Bad experience overall - and it’s over-hyped. First waitress was annoyed we ordered drinks right away, and the one who she was covering never checked with us the entire meal - the busser delivered the meals. Food was mediocre overall and the steak frites awful. Manager involved at the end but he made no attempt to make amends. We won’t be going back.

This is our 'go to' restaurant before attending Kennedy Center events. Yesterday's experience was subpar. Slow service, they brought the wrong entree to me and I had to chase a host to find out where the replacement meal was. Food was fine when it eventually showed up - but my dining companion was almost finished with their meal at that point. Very disappointed in this dining experience.

I absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is amazing- great outdoor seating. The staff is attentive, friendly, make time to connect- great with suggestions. The good is ALWAYS good. Never had an issue. Great location. 20 out of 10.

Circa at Foggy Bottom was great, but an external experience colored my eve, unfortunately, as I'll explain below. The food! Their appetizers read so well, I ate them as my dinner. The wagyu meatball sliders were super tender and flavorful. - The Mac & Cheese was outstanding - creamy and the noodles were perfectly cooked. I highly recommend it if you can do bacon, a well-represented accent. Same for the roasted Brussels sprouts. I was modestly disappointed there wasn't more blue cheese, as that was a key ingredient, but as far as sprouts go, it was well-seasoned, lightly seared, and robust. The service! Great. Our waitress was amiable, knowledgeable, and attentive. All of her recommendations were spot on. Drinks came quickly from the bar, as well. The ambiance! This is complicated. The interior has a cool vibe and the patio seems to as well, but because I made a reservation same morning, they sat my friend and I next to the waitress station and the door from the inside, so I was constantly distracted by people walking out. Also, I gave my colleague the inside seat, so she could see the bar and the street. I could see some outside from my vantage point, but a glazed, glass door mostly obstructed my view. Anywhere else on the patio may have been a different "scene," so reserve early. The Variables! I rode a GoTrax scooter to the restaurant and parked right in front of my line of sight, but I started paying attention to my colleague, looked up, and it was gone! Thieves in this area are brazen, and the restaurant lacks security cams, as I learned after-the-fact. Uber or walk there!
