Excellent, very personable service from the hostess handling reservations and seating to my lovely waiter. The food was classically French and excellent. Had Airline chicken with peach lavender glaze and haricot verde and roasted potatoes. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥

We arrived at 7pm for our 7:15 reservation and we were seated immediately in the basement wine cellar which was less than 1/2 full. Our waitress was friendly and seemed attentive. I asked her opinion about ordering the entree and she stated that the trout was the great and she highly recommended. Our starter course was finally delivered to the table 1.5 hours after being seated and was ok, not great. Our waitress came by the table and said the kitchen had run out of carrots so my meal would not have the veggie bed and would be served separately. She made it seem as not a problem so I just acknowledged her statement. Our main course arrived 2 hours after arrival. My wife’s crab was cold and my trout dish was the most unappetizing I have ever experienced in an upscale restaurant. I tasted the trout and it did not taste any. Ether than it looked. The veggies were served separately and they had been sautéed to mush. The meal was a complete failure and I told the waitress we were leaving to find another restaurant before it was too late. She agreed with our assessment and apologized for the kitchen and said they were obviously having issues. We offered to pay but she graciously said that would not be necessary.

The dining experience overall was fine. Food was pretty mediocre, service was unpolished. Definitely too expensive for what it is, even considering the location. There are many better options in the area. I don't regret my dinner here, but I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend it.

We've eaten at Circa 1875 3 or 4 times. We always enjoyed the great food, excellent service, and interesting decor. This was the first time the service was below the high standard we've experienced in the past. Our server emphasized the drinks menu but seemed disappointed that we did not order alcohol. We do not drink alcohol and I expect a server to respect that. It should be no different than being a vegetarian. Also, our server did not offer a dessert menu. We had to ask. We consider this experience a one-off because we had excellent service in the past. We will probably return to Circa 1875 again with the hope that the service returns to the usual high standard.

We weren’t too impressed with the food taste and quality. The Cesar salad dressing wasn’t to our taste, the French onion soup was good. My wife enjoyed the pork chop. I ordered the steak medium it was served to me well done and charred almost burnt on the outside. The waitress was slow and inattentive. My drink glasses were allowed to go empty without her offering to refill them. Finally towards the end of dinner I asked if she could refill my drinks. We spent $200 for dinner, but it definitely wasn’t worth it. It will probably be a long time before we choose to dine here again. I hate giving bad reviews, but trying to give an honest assessment.
