Ever made a reservation 2 weeks prior. Forgot the restaurant early for a cost. Waited until exactly 5 because the hostess can’t seat a minute before so everyone was sea tested in the bar waiting at the same time. Told I should order quickly because they had a party going to be waiting otherwise. I made the reservation and asked for a window table. We were seated upstairs where tables were 2 feet apart. Once we placed our order a table was seated by the hostess next to us with 2 couples 5 children under 5. Needless to say they were totally out of control crying jumping from chairs climbing over table. Parents brought out cry and computers toys and nothing was going to help. Told our waiter that we were really upset that we expected a relaxing meal. We were rushed through our meals and paid our bill before we were done eating. Same with the customers next to us. I wasn’t expecting romper room for a dinner in a restaurant like Chop. First time we were there on recommendation from our resort in Sister Bay. Won’t be visiting there again We visit Door at least 4 times a year for many years and haven’t had this experience ever. Spent too much money and out in 45 minutes. Spend somewhere else Food is good but hardly noticeable after experience.

The food was very good. I had an eight once strip, medium rare, and it came out as advertised. Nice garlic butter on top. Their house chopped salad was also good. My biggest complaint is that we felt rushed. Fifty five minutes overall and we did not order immediately. So overall just ok.

Excellent food! The service was great! My husband and I went for the early dining and had the 3 course meal. Plenty of choices to choose from for each course. We sat outside on the top of the patio for a good view of Sister Bay. I would highly suggest everyone try “ The Chop” at least once.

Our dinners, the Duck and the Pork Chop, were outstanding. Daniel, our waiter, was excellent and provided outstanding service and was very personable. My only complaint is that you add the tax into the tipable amount and, quite frankly, I believe that is illegal. Tipping should be on food and beverages served, not tax or service charges. Since I just clicked the 20% button on the hand held charger, I didn't really have a chance to calculate the tip until I received the bill via email.

We had a lovely dinning experience,everything prepared beautifully,and tge service,as always was exceptional. Our drinks and food was well served,the staff works well together to provide a gibe dinning experince for all patrons.

We had a great meal with very attentive servers. We were seated by Katlin after we had a cocktail at the bar. Jody, the owner, who we have know for about 30 years also greeted us. We had a great steak and beef medallions dishes which were perfectly cooked. We highly recommend it. Well done Chop….

Our server was outstanding - exemplary - but seemed to be the only one working on lower outside dining area. She was also very well versed in gluten free, which we appreciated. $350 dinner check should not leave ANY disappointments. Kitchen needs feedback - all five steaks were very overdone ( medium was grey throughout). They forgot my scallops. They forgot my daughter’s twice baked potato. When we asked about them, a runner brought both but rest of meal was cooled. I know it’s a holiday and that there were village festivities, but this was a special birthday and someone in our party drove up just for dinner. We will be back, but perhaps when things are less chaotic. Big ask - Would love to see a gluten free option for popovers or carrot cake, and our birthday girl missed the creme brûlée. Good news is that everything tastes fantastic, the salads are always fresh and wonderful, and the weather for outside dining was perfect. Thank you for offering parking behind hotel! Big save in that traffic!!
