We had a great experience at Chocolate the Restaurant. Really good food (I had the Oaxacan Mole), super helpful server, yummy margaritas, and delicious desserts. We went with the sampler dessert tray, small, and it is was still more than the 3 of us could finish. Highly recommend.

My companions had interesting, delicious meals. My chicken Parmesan was a bit of a disappointment because it had no cheese. The homemade sauce was tasty but no cheese on chicken Parmesan? The server said it would be very cheesy. Nope. Weird oversight? Nice cocktail menu and the deserts were all top notch.

Food was great. We had the caprese salad for an appetizer. I had the Oaxacan chicken mole for dinner and my partner had the salmon in a teriyaki style sauce. He had a delicious watermelon margarita. We had chocolate strawberry shortcake for dessert. It was all fantastic. We sat inside which was quite and private. Outside would have been great too.

We come here all the time measured in YEARs. We average about 1 visit per week and we drive from San Jose to Santa Cruz - usually on Friday. Yes -it's that good. This visit we had the pasta rosettes and hand cut fettucini (Pesto sauce). Our usual dessert is hot fudge sundae, 2xVictoria hot chocolates, and 2 scoops of chocolate Gelato. Always look forward to our weekly visit and the great staff at Chocolate!

Quaint restaurant with a ton of gluten-free options and great service. Food was delicious! Can't recommend the GF mini-loaf, chicken and potato soup, and the vanilla-passionfruit cheesecake enough.

One of my favorite restaurants anywhere. The setting is romantic and artistic, the food unique and delicious. Lovely waitstaff with attentive attitude. Great background music and the sound of the fountain in the outdoor seating area is a relaxing addition.

We made a reservation well in advance to celebrate our daughter’s graduation… and were seated in front of the kitchen’s traffic, while another large table outside was unseated. Waiter “didn’t hear me” when I asked to replace a drink then still charged for it once he took the full drink away. Food was nice, everyone enjoyed their meals. Would have been better w a glass of wine but the waiter never returned to check on us. Desserts overrated. Wouldn’t go back sadly.

Came on a Saturday at 630pm. Service was ok.The kitchen was very slow. One of our dinner order was replaced with another meal without being asked because they ran out of an item. We were too hungry to get upset or ask for another meal. Fettuccini was good. Chocolate mouse cake with cherries also tasty. No bathroom in the restaurant, shared restroom with the book store next door. Only problem was the book store closed by the time we were done with our meal and the restroom was no longer available.

Thank you for trying us out. Unfortunately as your table was finishing we had been unaware that the bookshop closed early that night. As a result of your review, we are now setting up a back entrance to the restrooms every Friday and Saturday night from 7-10pm. S we thank you for your comments. As far as the fettuccine, our server had been sure that you had originally ordered the Pasta Rosettes. Unfortunately, when he brought your meal the fettuccine was in fact no longer available. Please accept our apologies, as well as our thanks for your comments.

absolutely fantastic. We were served by the owner himself! Very nice and did a great job explaining each dish and drink. Fabulous cocktails. Get the chocolate martini with tequila! Great chicken parm and even better chicken mole!
