Chez Catherine is consistently rated one of the Best French Restaurants in New Jersey. It provides a wonderful dining experience from the warm greeting when you enter to the last sip of wine. This mainstay of Westfield, NJ for the last 38 years delivers quality cuisine and impeccable service.
The owner, Stephane Bocket was born in Dunkerque, France. Stephane was the Maitre d'Hotel for 12 years before purchasing Chez Catherine in 2016. His career spans many years at Alain Ducasse's restaurants in NYC and France and before that in a number of other restaurants throughout France.
The Chef de Cuisine is Christine Migton. Christine graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. Her dishes revisit traditional French cuisine but use different flavors and tastes. She works to provide lighter and healthier ingredients wherever possible while maintaining that special French touch.

Outstanding Valentine’s Day Date night with my special lady. The food (dover sole), the wine ( a fantastic French chosen by our waiter ), and an awesome dessert ( Chocolate Moose) to end a perfect evening! I highly recommend this upscale, longtime Westfield restaurant. Thank you Stefan for a great night!

We have been dining at Chez Catherine for more than 30 years. We ate there when Catherine was still alive, and were so happy when it re-opened after her death. Stefan and his staff have re-created the fine dining experience that is so hard to find anymore, especially outside New York. We dine at Chez Catherine several times a year for outstanding French food, a great wine list, and wonderful service.

This small restaurant has a limited menu, but a selection with something to appeal to everyone’s taste. Each dish is excellent, and a reasonable size. The atmosphere is lovely, with fresh flowers on each table, and the host provides gracious service. Perfect for a special night out.

We have always loved Chez Catherine. The food is magnificent and the service is not only polite but welcoming. The restaurant itself is quiet, understated and unassuming. It does have a strange location in that it is located in a motel but that hardly detracts from its charm and quality. Those who might equate french restaurants with a certain"snottiness" on the part of the staff will be pleasantly surprised by the bonhomie of of Chez Catherine.
