Chelsea Tavern is a local popular gastropub located in downtown Wilmington, directly across from the Grand Opera House. The kitchen prepares delicious comfort food consisting of locally grown and house made ingredients, that is complemented by our dynamic craft beer selection. Chelsea’s ever-changing inventory features 33 beers on tap, hundreds of large format bottles, cans, and single serving bottles of seasonal and local brews. Chelsea is a neighborhood favorite that is perfect for a quick lunch, weekend brunch with friends, pre-show dinner, or a group gathering. It was our first time there for a brunch before and afternoon show across the street. Parking is still a bit of a hassle, but the food and drinks were awesome!

Only issue, same as last time. I reserved a high top. Didn't get one. If this is something that can't be handled, it should not be a choice

We have had much better experiences at this restaurant. I asked for a booth, but was told I could not have one. I didn't want to be at the tables in the center of the room where everyone sits on everyone else's laps. So they put us in the bar at a high top table. I am too short to be comfortable at a high top, but it was the only choice I had. I made this reservation in early August. I saw empty booths in the dining room. They served us salads but we had no utensils!! It took 10 minutes before we were able to ask for them. The bar got louder and louder as the night went on. The food was only bearable.

Service was extremely slow. We attributed it to staffing as it appeared there was only one server. Although the baked potato soup was good, it was too salty for me. The other person who had it felt theirs was fine, so it may have just been me. We will return!

Surprisingly good entrees and pleasant service. Excellent beer list and convenient to downtown entertainment venues.

We always have a good meal. Their beer selection is very good. They have a lot of beers to choose from. We go often on Saturday night so we can make our own beer flight.

Chelsea is a busy, bustling place. The tables are close together and the noise level is loud. But the service is good with a huge beer and drinks menu, and the food is reasonably priced. I had the Tavern fish & chips and my wife had a salad. All the food was good. We enjoyed our dining experience.

20 minutes to get a soda, 16 minutes for a glass of wine. Waiter never stopped by to ask about a refill. It was before a show at across the street at The Grand so we expected crowded and had reservations, but still the service was chaotic. With the addition of the outside tables there were too many tables for the kitchen resulting in a 45 minute wait for a burger. The manager was busy entertaining friends, which was a big mistake with the crowd being so large. The food was ok, but then they added a 20% service charge for a 2 top, no way! I guess they feast when there is a show in town, because otherwise I wouldn't go here. Sorry the service was a killer.
