Chelsea Tavern is a local popular gastropub located in downtown Wilmington, directly across from the Grand Opera House. The kitchen prepares delicious comfort food consisting of locally grown and house made ingredients, that is complemented by our dynamic craft beer selection. Chelsea’s ever-changing inventory features 33 beers on tap, hundreds of large format bottles, cans, and single serving bottles of seasonal and local brews. Chelsea is a neighborhood favorite that is perfect for a quick lunch, weekend brunch with friends, pre-show dinner, or a group gathering. Went at 6:15 in advance of a 8:00 show across the street at The Grand. Didn’t get entrees until after 7:00. Appetizer arrived after food, which defeated its purpose. Requested refill of lemonade, but never came. Food was only ok. Disappointing. Will look at other options next time.

Our food was good; however our server took our order but there was to follow up to see if we were okay, whether we needed anything. Sat for a long while with our dirty plates. Server came with our bill and I asked if I could see the dessert menu. Gave her my choice from the menu and then she came back to say it was unavailable. I paid the 20 percent service charge which was in my bill but I think patrons should pay a percentage if their choosing based on the service received.

We stopped in before a show at the Queen and had a wonderful meal. Service was great and quick. We ate downstairs and it was really cool, looked like an old speakeasy. Will definitely go back.

We went for Father's Day brunch. It's a great updated brunch menu. Also, they always have a great beer menu.

Great service. Location perfect for a show at the Grand Opera. Marginal food. Crab cake was mushy and likely just the crab dip made into an undercooked patty. Over the top “Service fee” notice on menu and even the check! If you’re having issues with “no show” food pickups, why punish your ACTUAL customers with a 2% up charge??

The service was friendly & attentive. The food was delicious. The noise level was a little on the high side. Overall, it was a good experience & I would eat here again.
