Food is good. Weird vibe like they don’t know what they want to be because food is good enough for upscale restaurant while the room is very downscale beach . The outside patio is pretty bad . You are paying prices for white tablecloth upscale dining while sitting with people in shorts and flip-flops and T-shirts. Won’t go back

Another wonderful dining experience. Staff are warm, kind and focused. Food was amazing as usual. A memorable dining experience for all.

Very disappointing dinner at Charcoal Venice. Reading the many restaurant reviews in newspapers and elsewhere, the mediocre food is described between the lines in all of them. You will read that reviewers preferred the vegetable sides, or the grilled cabbage, or the duck, but never the steak! This place is very expensive, but the quality isn't there to justify it. Steakhouses always have to compete with what I could do on my grill at home, but the good ones can get a char with a 900 degree broiler that I can't replicate at home. I think this place is just grilling over charcoal like anywhere else. All the meat tasted like charcoal -- not like wood smoke, like briquettes! The service is middling, I felt we were rushed to order, then ignored during the meal, then rushed to pay. Basically I'm never coming here again. I would not recommend it.

Pricey but the food was good. Tuna Tartar and Smoky Grilled Chicken Wings were Superb. The Wagu Beef was like butter and the Prime Skirt Steak was very flavorful. Only disappointing item were the Charred Brussel Sprouts what were way over sauced.

The bone-in rib eye was a big hit. The jidori chicken breast was chewy, tough, and dry. The steak fries were amazing as was the bread and butter. The scampi style prawns were huge - but it was heavy on tomatoes and light on garlic for my taste.

Amazing meal! We’re from NYC. I bought the Charcoal cook book on Feb 23. 2020 and cooked my way through it in my big green egg during the pandemic. So excited to have a spectacular meal here. The oysters were amazing! And OMG the duck! Sarah our server was fantastic - just above and beyond with her recommendations and love of the menu. ❤️❤️❤️

The best aged steaks, terrific & even healthy sides & salads. Love it ! For a regular dinner or a special occasion! Great waiters,cool art, tv to watch surfing or sports. (Haven’t tried Happy Hour but seems to be a bargain!) Yum :)
