    Phillipe welcomed us warmly and made us feel as though we were his favorite clients, as he does everyone. From the service at the bar to our knowledgeable and attentive waiter, we felt so well taken care of. The food was superb, original and delicious. We loved being at Chapeau.

    Loved the personal care we received from the entire staff food was so goo, loved the wine recommendation. Will absolutely visit again soon.

    Friendly bar -overworked waitstaff-food very good but not great. So loud - conversation nearly impossible.

    The restaurant on weekends is not inexpensive ($40 for a small piece of cod with a few potatoes and a few green beans) and a beet salad with mostly goat cheese for $18). For these prices the service should have been excellent but instead our waiter forgot about us and spent a a long time talking with a couple and got lost in her conversation in the bar area. Starting out this way ruined our dining experience. We might give this restaurant another try with another waiter and a different meal because we had heard it was good restaurant.. We had a sadly disappointing time since the service was so poor, food just ok and were seated at a table that was too small for 3 people. Also, our waiter showed a lack of respect dressed as if she forgot to change from yard work as the other waiters looked professional. The interior was surprising great in comparison to the rest of Clement Street

    Chapeau! never disappoints! Excellent food, remarkable service and great atmosphere - everything you would want for an evening to remember! You will be greeted by the owner and chef Philippe, who will personally make sure you will have a fantastic time at Chapeau! Do yourself a favor, once you experience this place you will never forget it!

    Four of us had a truly wonderful evening at Chapeau this past weekend. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful and the food was very good; a creative spin on modern French. They couldn't have been nicer - letting us stay and enjoy our meal and the restaurant's classy but cozy ambiance for 4 hours, never even hinting at rushing us. I hadn't been in a long time, and it felt like the neighborhood gem it has always been, but even more so.

    Lovely French bistro on Clement St. I’ve been coming here for years… it used to be called St. Tropez. Found the service to be off last evening. Our waiter brought us menus and then forgot about us! I had to flag someone down to have our orders taken. This sub par service continued throughout the meal with completed dishes sitting at table before clearing and delivery of next course. Very disappointing service!

    Wonderful experience from start to finish. Beautiful, small restaurant. Great service and amazing food that was beautifully presented. Every detail was perfect. Hope to have room for dessert next time!

    Owner was great. Food was quite good. Waiter was impatient and didn’t seem to like us. He rarely came to the table unless summoned. At these prices, I would expect more restraint from wait staff when it came to negative self-expression. Otherwise good experience. Will go back.
