Join us and enjoy an elevated dining experience with a waterfront view of the marina at The Cast and Plow Restaurant located inside The Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey. We offer a Contemporary California cuisine for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with an Ala Carte Brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Our last seating for dinner is 9:30pm daily. This locals-favorite features fire-pit tables for dining and a full bar that is open until 11:30pm. Our fire-pit tables cannot be reserved are not guaranteed and based on availability. We will do our best to honor those who would like to enjoy outdoor dining.

Our party of 8 was seated outside right next to the bussing station with an obstructed view of the water. I asked to be moved closer to the water and seated at two side by side tables. It was early morning and we were the only party in the restaurant I was told no because splitting our party up to two separate tables would be too difficult for the wait staff. Again we were the only party in the dining area and would have happily split the bill into two separate charges if necessary The hostess demonstrated a clear disregard for customer service

Location, view, people- ambiance is good. The food, which is what you really come for in a restaurant, poor. Incredibly poor. Went here for lunch. Menu is non satisfactory to begin with. Ordered: Chicken sandwich- extremely dry, rubber chicken with charred burnt flavor( supposedly grilled) buns are so burnt, literally black not just on the sides but the inside of the bun too. When servers and chef was notified, they had the audacity to explain and defend themselves for serving something poorly. Heirloom tomatoes with burrata: no heirloom tomatoes in there, but kumatos yes. The chef and server defended themselves and insisted they served heirloom tomatoes, are they really under a Ritz Carlton hotel, if they can’t even differentiate their tomatoes? BLT sandwich, how can you even do this wrong? But they did. Again their tomatoes were not heirloom as their menu said, it was a “crudo sliced- type” paper thin tomato, no lettuce barely there and barely there bacon for $30?!?!? I’ll stop here, my cocktail with empress gin was nude pink, meaning there was barely empress gin in my drink. All in all, if there was zero stars I’ll give zero.

Our wait person, Rosie, was excellent. She made wonderful recommendations for both food and wine. The hostess who seated us also very friendly and helpful.

The Saturday noon menu is a very limited brunch menu. The food is good, but the portions are very small for the prices. $8.00 for a small glass of iced tea that was never refilled. The service did not represent a high end dining experience. Nice setting. I think there are better options for upscale dining.

Beautiful place to have a meal. It’s across from the water and boats. The patio is great to seat at and look through the view. The service was very very slow. The menu does not have a lot of selections. We wanted omelette and the waiter was kind enough to ask the chef to make it for us. It took one whole hour from the time we ordered to get the food which was cold! Anyhow somewhere around the whole time we were there, the waitress became inpatient and unpleasant. She became rude and unapologetic. And could not understand why? She double charged us on the tip. We called the manager and he eventually fixed it and gave us credit!! (Be careful wherever you go. Add what you have ordered to make sure the total is correct.) it’s unfortunate that we had such an unpleasant experience for such a beautiful place. I don’t think we will go back.:(

Honestly i expected a bit more from the Ritz in MDR. I think the restaurant was understaffed that night because it was a bit of a mess. We had a reservation but still waited to be seated and the hostess kept running back and forth frazzled. There was a big party in a private room so maybe that added to the not smooth flow. However when we were finally seated I have to say our server Stewart more than made up for the rocky start of experience. He was friendly attentive and knowledgeable. He apologized for the long entree wait and I think we even got free ice cream with our to go dessert. My salmon was really tasty and well prepared. My husband’s filet was also a winner. But I have to say the fried cheesecake dessert was incredible and really was the best end to the meal. Overall not a bad meal but rocky service. Definitely sit on the patio bc indoors is a bit hectic and not as ambiancey. I’m a bit confused about the decoration choices too it’s like a cross between we want to be classy but we’re also by the water so let’s throw random examples of that fact.

There were empty tables with a view and they stuck us by the door with no view. Marriott Ambassador and repeat customer.

Service is attentive and the food is delicious!! My go to place to met for lunch with my brother from Orange County. Beautiful view of marina on the patio.
