It is a short block from us and since no one lives there, it is a reliable place to find a parking spot. Currently streets in the area are closed off or restricted for Covid-19 street dining.

Carmine's on Penn used to be THE place to go for outstanding Italian food in Denver. I returned last night with two out of town friends hoping for a repeat. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer that did not show and the waiter said the kitchen forgot the order! I think there were maybe two other table occupied. Then what used to be a memorable salad was just awful. I ordered the veal parmigiana, one of my favorites, but the veal was very tough and without flavor. I asked what came with it and was told "nothing" so had to pay $8 for a very average side of spaghetti. I could not finish my entree and my two guests had theirs boxed up to take back to the hotel in hopes that they may be very hungry later. I was extremely disappointed with the latest encounter at Carmine's and will probably never return. Meeting today with a business associate and he asked my opinion. When I told him, he thanked me for validating his opinion from recent experience. There are so many very good Italian restaurants in Denver and Cherry Creek, why would i ever go back for a bad and very much overpriced dinner at Carmines? Bad food, poor service, and high prices! No More!

Have eaten here a lot but service was off this time. Took 20 minutes to get a drink. Took forever on salads. Salads came with dinner.

Great food at a lovely family restaurant. We were there for almost 2 hours with a group of 7 that included a 9month old, 2 year old, and almost 4 year old and there is only one thing that made them behave well for that period of time - they enjoyed the food, as did their mom, Aunt, and Grandparents. Although the 2 year old found a way to dim the lights, but no one seemed to mind! The place was full when we left.

Brian did a great job and when there was a mishap in our order the manager and the servers respectfully handled it. Even made our daughter a special drink without fizz so she could feel special (since she’s adverse to things that taste “spicy” / fizzy).

Carmines on Penn used to be in our neighborhood but we had not been back since we moved. Last night was the treat we remembered from 20 years ago. So worth the drive!!!!

We love Carmine’s and like to go here for special occasions. No matter the meal it is great1 We had the short ribs and butternut squash ravioli. Celebrated a birthday tonigh, and we all shared the complimentary dessert.
