Started with cocktails. They were marvelous. Wonderful Food. Let our knowledgeable waiter Joe order for us. Beautiful building and atmosphere .

Very hectic in there. Service was off a bit. We had a water spill at the table, and it took 3 requests to 2 different servers over a 10-minute period to get extra napkins to clean it up. Food was good if you like really aldenti cooked noodles. However, there was plenty of it. At least this time We were not reminded that this was the "Original" place every 15 minutes.

I’m really sad to see the state of this restaurant. The host made us wait so long for our table even though there were plenty of tables that were empty. Her reason was that we are adding one more person to the reservation and that would require another 30 minutes but gave us the same table. I just don’t understand how adding a chair and one additional table setting took 30 minutes. Overall the food was a hit or miss. Not consistent and sadly , that will be our last time there. Although we have celebrated many milestones at Carmines, I hope in the future, they treat long term customers with more grace and better service.

Great for groups (as we were). Our server brought a festive mood and anticipated the needs of our table of 3 teen boys. Brought a pitcher of Shirley Temples without asking, which delighted them. Fun presentation and plenty of choice with the food. Calamari perfectly crispy, nice bread/focaccia for the table. I like that the wine selection had by the glass, quartino AND by the bottle. Pasta alla Vodka, great. Spaghetti & Meatballs, a classic (although it didn't have my Mom's special touch). Chicken Romano (with spinach, potatoes, wine wine, capers and red peppers) was nice. Potatoes a touch dry though. Shrimp scampi was good, needed a little extra garlic though. Desserts very celebratory-A giant Slice of decadent chocolate bread pudding with whipped cream and candles for the graduating boys. Also, tiramisu that was in a large dish. Both a very sweet finish. All in all, a perfect choice for a graduation lunch with something to please everyone.

This was my first time dining at Carmines at this location on 91st. We had a reservation and still waited about 7-10 mins for seating which is expected when dining here. Once we were seated we immediately noticed the worn down chairs. We even try switching chairs to find a sturdy one, but they were all loose. Chairs are very old and worn down. The restaurant itself was very hot and humid. Made the dining experience uncomfortable. Our server was okay. My boyfriend ordered a drink and said “I’d like to try the carmines colada” and she was very condescending and stated he could not “try” the drink, instead he had to ordered it. She made us feel as if we were asking for a sample.We were clearly trying to order the drink. She made us uncomfortable from the start. Later we noticed she brought the table next to us a sample of a drink even though she told us we couldn’t “try” a drink. I ordered the Fly me to the moon margarita which tasted very artificial and too sweet. I’d give it a 2 out of 5. I then tried the blood orange frozen margarita which was also sweet but refreshing considering the humidity level at the restaurant. We ordered our favorite appetizer which are the wings and they did not disappoint!! The flavor was great and their blue cheese is amazing as always. We decided to go with one of the specials which was the carbonara pasta. This pasta’s salt level was extreme to the point where we could not continue eating it. We mentioned it to the server and told her we were not enjoying the pasta. She was quick to defense and stated it was due to the bacon and prosciutto. We told her we knew what the pasta contains but it was too salty for consumption. All she offered was to let the kitchen know and was visibly uncomfortable after us bringing this to her attention. She did not offers us anything else to help makeup for our dissatisfaction with our food. She made our dining experience very distasteful. We won’t be returning back to this location.

The decor is simple with (Itialian) family photos on the walls, giving it a welcoming, down-to-earth vibe. The service is efficient and friendly, even during peak hours when the restaurant is at its busiest. You might have to wait a bit for a table during dinner rush, but the staff works hard to keep things moving smoothly. The menu sticks to the classics, and they do them well. From the excellent bread to the generously portioned pasta dishes, everything is cooked with a focus on flavor and consistency. The Chicken with lemon and butter is a standout. One of the biggest draws of carmine's is its value for a crowd. Great for celebrations. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and you always leave feeling like you've gotten your money's worth. It's a great spot for a casual family dinner or a celebration (birthday, graduation, etc).

It was my mom’s 61st birthday. We had a great time. It was a family friendly environment.
