Joe was by far the BEST waiter we have had at any Ruby restaurant! He was very personable, outgoing, helpful, full of suggestions and down right amazing! My 6 year old will not stop talking about her new friend “Joe”. Thank you so much Joe for making this evening special for my family!!

Edited to add: Carlo and Johnny management followed up with a personal phone call to apologize for our dining experience. They asked for feedback and suggestions and will forward to the corporate office. They asked if we would consider dining with them again. I feel they handled the constructive criticism with grace and concern. I give them 5 stars for their follow up and resolution of our complaint. Original review: We dined at Carlo & Johnny for our anniversary. We enjoyed our shrimp cocktail (the shrimp are enormous!) and shared a Freddie salad (one salad is definitely large enough to share and they bring it out on separate plates). We both ordered filet with different toppings for our main course (I had steak Diane and my husband had a crawfish sauce topping his). We both commented after our first that it seemed cool. After the second bite, we both agreed that the sauce was not warm at all. The manager noticed we had stopped eating and came to the table to inquire if everything was to our liking. We voiced our concern that our food was not warm and we felt it may have been sitting for some time before being brought to the table. He was very responsive (almost as though this is a common occurrence) and took both of our plates. They were quick to return and this time the sauces were warm and the manager apologized and stated dessert would be comped so save room. We were quite full but did bring a very large slice of carrot cake home to enjoy later. Leaving the restaurant was interesting…we used the valet when we arrived as did most other patrons. It seemed as though we all finished dinner at the same time (there was a large company party that evening as well). My husband waited in line outside (it was 15 degrees) for approximately 30 minutes before we got our car. The valets were doing the best they could but a patio heater for those waiting would have been greatly appreciated and welcomed.

We patronize multiple Ruby establishments here in the Cincinnati area. Usually just two of us however this time I gathered a group of 8 people together for a celebration. I was almost embarrassed at how horrible the service was. It took a very long time for our food to get to our table. I will however add that the waiter apologized to us for the long wait without any of us saying anything to him. And they did comp our bill for some of the total without asking for this. Food was not up to par as it usually is at Ruby’s establishments. Steaks not hot a tough fillet mignon just not what it should be. Hopefully just a one time thing. We really enjoy going to Ruby’s.

As always at a Jeff Ruby’s restaurant food and service were great. My only slight criticism is it took awhile for our entrees to arrive. They were very good but I think they sat for longer than they should as they were warm but could have been served at a slightly higher temperature. Thank you for following up and contacting me about the temperature of the food.

This was our first time dining here although we have been to other Jeff Ruby locations. Our disappointment was with the steaks. We both ordered the prime Delmonico ribeye. For $79 a steak we both expected an extraordinary piece of beef. It was not bad. It was just average. Our service was good, as were our salads and appetizers. But I don’t think we will be returning.
