The food and the view were nice, but the service was lacking. Our waiter never brought what we asked for. Overall, the service was not satisfactory, yet an 18% service fee was charged on the bill, including valet parking.

This is a very cozy restaurant overlooking the Malibu Pier. Service is quick and professional. The food is fresh and well presented. I would highly recommend.

The view was stunning! The service was very slow and we were crammed in betweeen two large parties. The food was salty, but decent. What bothered me was the parking and gratuity were included in the bill. There were only two us.

Wonderful dining experience for our 24th Wedding Anniversary. Our waiter was attentive and kind. The food was very good. Beautiful intimate oceanside setting.

Gorgeous views and setting on the Malibu beach. Sumptuous and innovative California cuisine. Attentive, knowledgeable and responsive waitstaff. Creative cocktail menu as well. The only issue was we were seated outside near the beach entrance and the beach employee was loudly dragging up onto the stairs/ gate all the beach chairs, beach umbrellas and loudly stacking them around bc their storage is right next to our table. Then he loudly dragged the heavy metal heaters across the patio while everyone was eating. He struggle starting the heaters, in addition, bc the patio is small, he kept banging into tables with diners… ourselves included. They took up so much space that it was difficult to navigate around the diners, waitstaff and heaters. This employee looked irritated, like he hated his job the entire time and appeared to purposefully bang around chairs/ heaters. The Malibu Inn should invest wall and ceiling caliber and construct a ceiling to encorporate new heaters. The fantastic ambiance was ruined for us.

Came for the ambiance and did not disappoint, came at 12 and it was quite day. Food was just ok, they didn’t have a lot on the brunch menu and the price was a bit much.

It was our first time visiting carbon beach restaurant. Jessica was our server and provided excellent customer service and the food quality was amazing.
