The Canyons Restaurant is located inside the clubhouse of The Crossings at Carlsbad Golf Course in North County San Diego, offering breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean! With our unique culinary flare, stone clubhouse, vaulted ceilings, rustic feel, multiple patios, and private dining rooms, The Canyons is perfect for any occasion. We are located right next to Legoland and the Sheraton/Westin Carlsbad Resorts!

*Please note that the Canyons Restaurant is open until 3pm daily and Player's Lounge is open after 3pm. Player's Lounge seating is outdoors with the exception of bar seating. There is heaters and fireplaces outside as well as a wind wall for guest comfort.

My party was there for lunch. The location, food and service were terrific. The only negative on the one day we were there was almost half the parking lot was blocked off for tree trimming. I guess there is no good time for that. Otherwise, the view just makes an already great dining experience even better.

We enjoyed our Sunday champagne brunch buffet. We would have liked to have had a eggs benedict station. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. We would have preferred outside seating on the west terrace. It was closed due to a cool breeze. Columns blocked my view of the ocean and the golf course. The manager insisted that the view from that table was better than the open table that I preferred.

Honestly my true complaint is with the Open Table app. I had been to this restaurant once before and had such a pleasant and positive experience I was truly excited to take my husband there for Fathers Day. I had to work a 12 hour shift so I scheduled my reservation for the morning to have enough time to eat and get to work. Upon arrival I was shown to our table and then pointed to a buffet. I was very confused by this and asked why the buffet? I was told it was their Fathers Day Buffet. Not sure what made me ask but usually I thought buffets were a per person charge so I asked well then are you charging per person? The waitress explained it was $99 per person!!!! No where did it say that when I made the reservation and with me only having 2 hours to eat, celebrate my husband and get to work we had no choice but to agree. When the manager came over to ask how our breakfast was I spoke up and said that the food was fine, my waitress was excellent but that I was pretty upset they did not advertise this to be the price it was. She apologized and stated that they had several walk outs due to Open Table not advertising the price of what this was, a buffet style breakfast/brunch. I explained that when I made the reservation on Open Table, it said it was a la carte and the manager agreed and stated that several other patrons had stated the very same thing and that they had some very unhappy guests due to this. So long story short, please be aware when booking on special holidays that this can happen and call the restaurant to ensure you do not get stuck with a hefty bill like we did. Now I want to also include the manager was gracious enough to discount our visit due to this terrible mishap but even with her gracious discount yesterdays buffet cost me $430. Very tough lesson learned and I hope that I can save anyone else from learning this

We enjoyed the $89 prefix-type dinners. The New York steaks were perfectly prepared. The Veggie Wellington also delicious. The Crab cake salad was surprisingly two generous crab cakes with a bit of lettuce. The wines that come with the dinner are local from the Fallbrook winery. We have another reservation made for this excellent dinner deal. The service personnel were attentive and helpful. The entertainment, a singer and guitar artist named Charley, was great. He had the best selection of dinner music with a terrific voice.

It’s been a while since I dined here. I was unpleasantly surprised to find the dining room looking like a wedding had just been disassembled. If the space has become too large, I suggest using moveable partitions to redefine the space. The food was good, not great. The Reuben could have used more meat.

Always enjoy the Friday Night Unwinds. Service and ambiance is outstanding! Menu changed from last year and prices went up quite a bit. It was a surprise but we enjoyed the evening anyway. Just bummed that it’s cost prohibitive to enjoy it “every” Friday evening. Shout out to our server, Jen. She provided stellar service!

Food and service were great. This was a special Date Night Sunset dinner. We had the option of dining inside or outside. We specifically chose outside. When we arrived we were told that the outside heaters were not working so couldn’t sit outside. The outside area is very large and long with numerous heaters. Can’t believe that all 10 of them weren’t working. If the outside is not going to be available, then don’t offer it as an option.
