I guess we chose the wrong day because locals we spoke to were surprised by our bad experience.

Wonderful restaurant. Chef has taken care to build an interesting menu for meat eaters and vegetarian. Our server could speak knowledgeably about the food and the wine. Salads, pastas and main dishes were delicious; desserts, not so much. The patio is delightful. We’ve been here twice and would come again and again.

A couple months ago, we had a pleasant brunch on the porch at Canneti Roadhouse Italiana in Forestville. Last night we went back to try dinner, since we had been intrigued by the menu. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing, for the full experience: melon soup shooter with caviar, roasted peaches with gorgonzola, a lamb sugo with pasta, a roasted half-hen, and a rice custard cake for dessert. Large portions of everything (except the shooter, obviously) -- we brought leftovers home. Again, we ate on the patio, which was delightful on a warmish evening. Service was attentive and friendly, and we were able to hold a conversation without effort (lots of room in the outdoor space). The food is very good, and the tasting menu gives a good overview. The paired wines are well-matched to the food. If you like "real" Italian food, it's worth a trip to Forestville. We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu (and more lamb sugo, which was my favorite).

Delightful place. Light NorthernItalians fare. Beautifully executed. Honestly my favorite restaurant within the greater Sebastopol area!

The food was phenomenal. The maccheroni with meat sauce was delectable, and we had a whole trout that was even better the next morning!

Dinner out with our son and his girlfriend. Amazing. The service was outstanding. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a fantastic time and look forward to visiting again when we are up by the river.

It would be hard to find a more authentic high quality Tuscan meal and is worth a visit and then coming back different times of the year since the menu is seasonal. Thoroughly enjoyable food! The place is a gem. Don’t miss the beautiful patio dining in the back
