Capture a magical moment of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s past as you dine in one of its most historic buildings. The four-diamond Cannery Restaurant of today is reminiscent of its former life as a canning factory in the 1800s, where Niagara peaches and tomatoes were canned until 1957. Its agricultural past has been lovingly retained in its décor of rough hewn wooden beams, rich red brick walls and a hearth at the heart of the restaurant. Chef Mark Longster continues to serve up the best of the region in his menus which feature the freshest local produce and fine wines. Charming and casual Cannery Restaurant is the place to find all your favorites, from succulent steaks to catch of the day to a fabulous Sunday brunch. Chef Longster's food is prepared and presented perfectly, for your ultimate dining experience.

All 4 of us really enjoyed our meals ! We all ate every bite - and we were full plus we did not have an app either. Nice presentation , meals were hot and tasty Great ambiance- warm , cozy & charming Definitely a nice dinner out - maybe for a special occasion or just because you are worth it !

Our overall experience was good. The service was just OK and the food was just OK too. We were recommended certain dishes by our server and they proved to be average. We had read many positive reviews about the restaurant so our expectations may have been too high. We were seated at a lovely fire side table and truly enjoyed the atmosphere.

The cannery never disappoints! We went come to NOTL and want a nice elegant dining experience, the Cannery is at the top of our list. The service there is wonderful and the food is delicious. The wait staff are always very warm and pleasant

We normally don’t leave reviews if they’re bad because as professionals in culinary & hospitality we understand that places can have off nights. However, in this case, we feel compelled to speak out because the experience “offered in the brochure” and the actual food & dining experience we received could not have been further from the truth. And there is nothing more infuriating than being sold A mixed bag of goods.. and for that reason, this review is being posted. It’s fine to call yourself a restaurant, and offer restaurant prices, but please only call yourself a fine dining establishment at fine dining prices if you truly are such. While I will not belabor with minute details, I will say that our service was excellent and our server handled what obviously were repeat frustrating situations for him with dignity and Grace. Management, however, needs to be much better educated about the dishes coming out of the kitchen because it is evident they know absolutely nothing about cuts of meat. We had cocktails, wine, appetizers, and entrées. We passed on dessert as there was nothing of our interest. What I can tell you about our meal was that the bread and butter were tasty.
