Capture a magical moment of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s past as you dine in one of its most historic buildings. The four-diamond Cannery Restaurant of today is reminiscent of its former life as a canning factory in the 1800s, where Niagara peaches and tomatoes were canned until 1957. Its agricultural past has been lovingly retained in its décor of rough hewn wooden beams, rich red brick walls and a hearth at the heart of the restaurant. Chef Mark Longster continues to serve up the best of the region in his menus which feature the freshest local produce and fine wines. Charming and casual Cannery Restaurant is the place to find all your favorites, from succulent steaks to catch of the day to a fabulous Sunday brunch. Chef Longster's food is prepared and presented perfectly, for your ultimate dining experience.

The salmon was under cooked but they quickly provided a new meal that was excellent. They compensated with a free dessert. The prime rib was very good though the Yorkshire pudding was a little chewy. Our server was outstanding and handled the situation with professionalism

It’s become a place where i love to frequent and have for 30+ years. Food is always excellent service the same. A place where I feel very comfortable and always leave having had a great experience.

Very enjoyable experience! We enjoyed Caesar cocktails, Caesar Salad and shrimp appetizer. Main course. The Prime rib. Melt in your mouth. To finish off Crème Brûlée and coffee. The Pino Noir very good. It has become a pre Christmas annual event. Thank you.

The Cannery is such a beautiful place to dine. Located in the Pillar and Post, it boasts a rich decor, especially in the evening when the fireplaces are going, the lights are lit, and the Christmas decorations abound. While it is a big restaurant, you never feel you are crowded. Service was impeccable and the food outstanding! Always a wonderful and satisfying meal. It is a bit on the pricey side, but well worth it for a special occasion. I do wish that since I had let them know it was my friend's birthday, they would have offered or surprised him with a complimentary dessert. Guess that isn't a thing anymore. Nonetheless, an evening well spent with good friends and good food!

Meals at the Cannery never disappoint. Taste, portions and presentation are excellent. My only small complaint was our server. My wife and I were there to have a nice relaxed time. Our server was perhaps trying to be too attentive but it felt like he was rushing us. We actually didn’t order our mains until our starters were complete so that it wasn’t a sprint meal. Even then, we were done in one hour.

Enjoyable evening, atmosphere is welcoming, Team friendly, quality comfort foods, David was especially efficient and goes out of us way to makes us feel right @ home.
