Capture a magical moment of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s past as you dine in one of its most historic buildings. The four-diamond Cannery Restaurant of today is reminiscent of its former life as a canning factory in the 1800s, where Niagara peaches and tomatoes were canned until 1957. Its agricultural past has been lovingly retained in its décor of rough hewn wooden beams, rich red brick walls and a hearth at the heart of the restaurant. Chef Mark Longster continues to serve up the best of the region in his menus which feature the freshest local produce and fine wines. Charming and casual Cannery Restaurant is the place to find all your favorites, from succulent steaks to catch of the day to a fabulous Sunday brunch. Chef Longster's food is prepared and presented perfectly, for your ultimate dining experience.

We’ve been to Niagara on the lake and never come to the Cannery. It was great ambience, great food, and just a wonderful time.

Wonderful food, good atmosphere. Waitress was less than interested in attentiveness. One drink order. Checked on us once. Half filled water glasses. Enjoyed the meal but not sure I’d go again due to the service

Beautiful dining room. Great staff. Shared the Bone Marrow as an appetizer, it was plenty, and really good. Ordered the Ribeye which came with mashed potatoes, and fresh green beans, with a nice pepper sauce. Everything was really delicious with generous portions. Would highly recommend. Prices were reasonable for the area.

We have eaten here before and our Prime Rib dinner was outstanding. With this visit, the quality of our Prime Rib was outstanding and cooked to perfection; however, our Yorkshire Pudding was cold to the touch and the baked potato was quite small and dry. We enjoyed our evening completely and would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant (as we assume the small problems were a “glitch” rather than an ongoing issue).

The food ,our waitress and ambience were outstanding. However the gal who greeted us was unprofessional and very rude. To the point of eye rolling. We didn’t want to sit right beside the door and asked for a different table. Apparently this was a major issue for her. So her bad attitude put a damper on the evening. Cannery train your employees in proper manners. Having said this I would recommend the Cannery.

All 4 of us really enjoyed our meals ! We all ate every bite - and we were full plus we did not have an app either. Nice presentation , meals were hot and tasty Great ambiance- warm , cozy & charming Definitely a nice dinner out - maybe for a special occasion or just because you are worth it !
