A Classic French Bistro in the heart of Edison Park has been a dream of Executive Chef and owner Joe Calabrese for several years. Joe was professionally trained at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America located in Hyde Park, New York. Before opening his other restaurant, Zia’s Trattoria (located one block west of Café Touché at 6699 N. Northwest Highway) in 1997, he was sharpening his professional – and knife – skills at several well-respected Chicago dining establishments including Ambria, Spiagia, Un Grand Cafe and the Park Hyatt. Joe lives in Park Ridge, a few short miles from the restaurants, so expet to see him in both restaurants assuring a quality experience for his customers. On days off, Joe can be found at home with his wife, Mary Kay and their 3 boys. Reservations by phone: 773-775-0909. Some nice specials to supplement the usual great menu. Good wine selection. Super service supported by lots of staff. So nice to have summer weather where the windows can be open.

Cafe Touche is a wonderful place to eat good French bistro food at a reasonable price. The wait staff is great, the room is cozy, and parking is easy. Great place to meet and talk with friends and to enjoy a good meal with loved ones.

The only problem I had with it was the noise level of a "private" party. They had no respect for the other side of the restaurant that was open. I picked it specifically for a family brunch that was also a special get together although not as big of course. But just as important to us. I would hope if I was having a private party the restaurant would give us total privacy and not have other guests in the room. If I go again on a Sunday, I'll ask if they are having an event there.

Trout was delicious, perfectly prepared. An abundant side of whipped potatoes, could've fed three! :) Friendly server. Terrific dinner!
