A Classic French Bistro in the heart of Edison Park has been a dream of Executive Chef and owner Joe Calabrese for several years. Joe was professionally trained at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America located in Hyde Park, New York. Before opening his other restaurant, Zia’s Trattoria (located one block west of Café Touché at 6699 N. Northwest Highway) in 1997, he was sharpening his professional – and knife – skills at several well-respected Chicago dining establishments including Ambria, Spiagia, Un Grand Cafe and the Park Hyatt. Joe lives in Park Ridge, a few short miles from the restaurants, so expet to see him in both restaurants assuring a quality experience for his customers. We sat on the patio. It was windy and the paper table coverings were blowing around. The brunch menu had served delicious items.

Wonderful waiter, excellent food (especially the salad with figs) lovely outdoor setting made us feel as if we were in Paris Great deal on wine; 1/2?price for a bottle

We had a lovely brunch on the patio! There was live music by a guitarist who played SO well! It really added to the chill ambiance without being too loud or intrusive. Everyone loved what they ordered (one friend for the Poulet Pillars (which is gluten free!), the other got the House Benedict and I had the Chicken & Waffles. Everyone loved what they ordered! OH, and they have REALLY good French fries too! Our server, Connor, was a real pleasure as well! He was so nice, made great recommendations, checked on us the perfect amount (often enough that we were never waiting for anything we needed, but not so often that we felt like our meal was being interrupted— that’s a hard balance to strike, folks!) and was quick to bring out anything we did need. The level of service we received greatly added to what was already a great experience! Go and enjoy this gem of a restaurant— you’ll be happy you did!

My friend and I went for the first time the other day. Our server was excellent. She was very attentive. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Charming buzzing bistro in a nice neighborhood. Nice cocktails, service, and completely packed on a Tuesday night! It’s unusual to have so many Italian dishes on the menu, and the waitstaff steered me away from the traditional French staples…Now I’m curious to go back and try them. Would go again, even though my halibut was overcooked. Everyone seemed happy with their meals.

Excellent service! The appetizers were outstanding and the entrees were absolutely delicious. A great Edison Park restaurant that we have always enjoyed.

We had a large group in attendance. Half ordered the specials that evening., a fancy ham and cheese sandwich that was enormous with a melted cheese topping, a shrimp and mushroom and vegetable bowl, the porc medallions, a halibut special and a chicken dish main stay from the regular menu Everyone enjoyed their meal. A wonderful weather night plus we were seated next to the front open sidewalk doors, only enhancing the evening. We had three different kinds of desserts (multiple of each), all delicious. Unsure why Cafe T removed the warm apple galette from the dessert list but hope they bring it back soon.....
