Le Cafe Carlo est un bistro canadien convivial et sans prétention situé dans le quartier de Little Italy de Winnipeg. L'atmosphère chaleureuse et confortable du Cafe Carlo est un élément fondateur de la scène culinaire de Winnipeg. L'établissement est toujours considéré comme étant le meilleur restaurant de la ville depuis sa création en 1989. L'ambiance et le décor ont évolué à partir de simples décors chics de braderie. Les propriétaires et les employés pensaient qu'un "grand restaurant" devait être consacré à la "création d'excellents plats". La passion des premiers employés et leur amour pour la nourriture et les boissons sont restés intacts à ce jour. Le restaurant souhaite partager les mets et les boissons qu'il aime, que tout le monde apprécie, avec chacune des personnes choisissant de lui rendre visite.

Everything was delicious!! Great service, great atmosphere, amazing food. The braised beef gnocchi is unbelievable, as is the fette chile. We love Cafe Carlos!

Cafe Carlo did not live up to its reputation. Here’s why; I have tried getting a walk in table at Cafe Carlo twice before, and both times packed with customers, a positive sign. Finally I booked a reservation for Saturday evening with high expectations, as Cafe Carlo has been highly recommended to me by many friends. Due to Cafe Carlos popularity Saturday evenings, I was only able to get a reservation for 5 pm. Arriving several minutes early and waiting outside with several other patrons, a employee of Cafe Carlo came to unlock the front door, not opening it for us, nor greeting us at all, but simply just unlocking the door and walking away. Upon entering, the host started seating the three separate groups (including my own) to their reserved tables, however not really seating us, but walking us halfway to our table and then pointing saying “that’s your table there” which doesn’t seem like appropriate service at all, especially with such a costly menu. Leather bound menus paired with a 8.5 x 11 loose piece of paper titled “Chefs Specials” felt inconsistent again considering the kind of reputation this restaurant has,.. doesn’t seem like the kind of place in which would call for a loose piece of paper displaying “specials” paired with quality leather bound menus including items such as a rack of lamb for $69. Our waitress was very good and attentive, and the service of food was well timed. The French rolls were a healthy portion however the paper cup of butter in which accompanied them felt out of place and cheap especially for a restaurant with such a high reputation and price point. The Bruschetta was very good for a starter. I ordered the Seafood Cannelloni for my main in which came with a lobster tail on top of two cannelloni’s in a plate of sauce and was fairly pleased with the dish. The pasta didn’t exactly taste fresh, and of course being in Winnipeg the seafood was expected not to be. $43 and I wasn’t exactly unimpressed nor content with my meal.

Consistent as usual. We always have a good time when we come here. Food and service are good. It is a bit pricey but worth it for us.

My pickerel was excellent and my husband had the meat penne which was great and so filling he had to take some home. Our server was super friendly and was very attentive to whatever we needed. A great dining experience!!

Amazing food as always, the butter this week was outstanding (garlic, chili and lime). Had the usual - calamari and fet chile and it slapped like always. My husband got the seafood cannelloni and it was very good. Our favorite restaurant in the city!

Trevor was our waiter...an absolute pro! Beef tenderloin was perfect with mashed potatoes and substituted broccoli. (IF you like broccoli and mushrooms have this!) Black Stallion Cabernet from the US was a perfect fit. Celebrated our anniversary of our first date there. A magical evening.

Amazing service! Friendly and attentive. We shared tge beet salad and each got a ravioli. Everything was delicious! Overall a great experience.
