Cafe Cariccio, the region's only authentic Tuscan restaurant, has been a favorite dining destination in Albany for 30 years. The Cafe was voted Best Restaurant in the Capital District by Metroland Magazine for 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, and many times previously. Jim Rua and Franco Rua are proprietors.     Catering is available for small or large parties for pick up or for on premise events. Our menu is filled with our classics from our kitchen as well as the elaborate authentic Italian dishes that we serve at our Chef's Table.

Our Chef's Table, located on the second floor above the main restauant, can hold parties of 10-17 and is an intimate open kitchen concept room where the chef cooks in front of your guests. The room also features a private entrance and private bathrooms just for this room. Our private room has wireless internet, screens and private staff. Our rooms regularly host business events and speaker presentations as well as family event, birthdays, anniversaries as well as couples dinners with friends.

    For the past sevral years my wife and I have celebrated oour anniversary at Cafe Capriccio, because we find its ambiance to be nothing short of romantic. It was also a real treat to connect with chef Franco Rua, a former middle school English student of mine. The food was AWESOME and the overall experience was outstanding. The restaurant is a true Albany treasure.

    What a wonderful place to grab dinner. We sat outside and that was even more interesting (in a good way). And the food was delicious. And the wait staff were amazing.

    Dinner before a show was terrific. The service was outstanding and dinner was delicious. Highly recommend Cafe Cappricio to all that look for a quality dinner and excellent service. The drinks were awesome as well!

    We loved Cafe Capriccio for our first visit. Our server Jennifer couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. We dined with another couple and shared the scrumptious meatballs, eggplant parm and burrata salad for appetizers then tried 3 different pastas, the duck. confit, shrimp, and ravioli and also the seafood special which was seared scallops and saffron risotto. They were all very good, but it was the combination of good food, old school fun environment and great service that will bring us back again! Favorite dish was the meatballs in a delicious red sauce!

    I visit Albany a few times a year and always venture here for dinner. It never disappoints! The food is amazing. I highly recommend the stuffed eggplant, which I tried this time around. It was FANTASTIC. The service is always very polite, attentive, and top-notch. If you are in the Albany area, make a reservation! You will need one as the place gets packed and stays that way until close. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and worth every penny!

    Ordered the steak and gorgonzola gnoccis, which was like the best mac and cheese on the planet combined with steak and mushrooms in a brown sauce. It was OUTSTANDING!! The service was good, ambience was very comfortable and quiet. Wines were good and also quite expensive.

    This was the 3rd time we have dined here and the service and food have been consistently excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant!

    It was our first visit to Cafe Capriccio. We were in town to take in a show at the MVP facility but the show was canceled. We were able to find another show but it was much earlier and the staff accommodated us with an earlier seating. Everyone at the cafe was lovely, food was delicious and the ambience reminded me of meals enjoyed at the Italian restaurants of the same age in Atlantic City. In one word, "GO"
