Situé à Capitol Hill, le Café Berlin sert une cuisine allemande authentique depuis 2985. Il occupe le rez-de-chaussée de trois maisons de ville dont les jardins à l'avant servent de Biergarten pour un repas en plein air. À l'intérieur, vous trouverez un petit bar ainsi que deux salles à manger confortables. Le restaurant est à quelques minutes à pied de la gare Union Station et du Capitole. Il attire des politiciens, des membres du congrès, des touristes, ainsi que de fidèles résidents du quartier. Les plats traditionnels sont concoctés de façon authentique avec une touche de légèreté, par des chefs expérimentés en cuisine allemande. Outre un menu régulier, le restaurant propose des menus changeant en saison, où figurent des asperges au printemps, des salades et des plats légers en été, des mets bavarois pendant l'Oktoberfest en automne ainsi que du gibier en hiver. Préparés sur place, les desserts incluent du strudel aux pommes, une forêt-noire ainsi que de savoureuses tourtes à la crème. Enfin, le bar vous fera découvrir une sélection de bières et de vins allemands.

Celebrate Oktoberfest with our Bavarian Brunch in our picturesque biergarten or in our cozy dining rooms! We will feature a special menu of traditional German breakfast dishes alongside Cafe Berlin's creations. Enjoy live German folk music and don your lederhosen or dirndl for a chance to win the title of Best Dressed! The price includes your choice of an appetizer or dessert, brunch entree, coffee or juice, N/A or alcoholic brunch beverage, live German Folk music, and all taxes, fees and service. A children's option will also be available at a lower price point. Music will be outdoors (weather permitting) but is able to be heard indoors as well.
Oktoberfest Pig Roast

Spit roasted pig with choice of two traditional sides, apfelstrudel and 1L of Oktoberfest bier. We will start welcoming guests at noon, the pig will be served around 1pm with the last entrees served at 2:15. We will be offering a small appetizer menu along with the Spanferkel but will not be offering our a la cart menu. We will do our best to accommodate those wishing to stay longer than the special seating, but will be accepting reservations for and beginning our regular dinner service at 3pm. Please plan your arrival time accordingly. :-) Price includes spit roasted pig with choice of two traditional sides, apfelstrudel, 1L of Oktoberfest bier, surprise amuse bouche from the chef, and all taxes, fees and service.

The food we enjoyed is very traditional German and was well prepared and presented. There is a nice patio in front where we sat. The kitchen was inextricably backed up so we waited a while for our appetizers and main course. Notwithstanding the delay our server was attentive.

This restaurant is a must visit for us when we are in the DC area. The food and beverages are authentic and delicious. The chef only works with ingredients that are the best to be found so if he can't find them then that dish does not get made. We introduced friends to Cafe Berlin too so I know they'll be back when they are craving good German food!

I live almost 1000 miles from Washington DC, but I can promise you that every time I go to the District for work, or my family and I go to visit, we eat dinner at Cafe Berlin. It is possibly the best German restaurant we have found on this side of the ocean. The food is consistently outstanding, the service is terrific across the board, and it is just a lovely dining experience, whether eating indoors or outside. Many thanks!

Cafe Berlin has a lovely vibe and pace, outdone only be the delicious food. It was a rainy night and we sat in the cozy bar along with what seemed to be devoted regular patrons…and we understand why! The bartender gave excellent descriptions of entrees, let us sample food and drink and we were able to enjoy a leisurely, wonderful meal. Cafe Berlin was recommended by friends and we will pass it on!

Everyone at Cafe Berlin is wonderful! I booked a reservation for six, as a surprise for my sister and brother in law. I was able to being a cake in and the wonderful staff was very accommodating to assist with bringing out the cake after dinner. We sat outside and the atmosphere was phenomenal! The food is some of the best we’ve had in DC. If you’re thinking of trying Cafe Berlin, I highly recommend you try it!!!

I have been going to Cafe Berlin for years. I decided to invite one of neighbors. He said Cafe Berlin was the best restaurant he has ever eaten in. He loved the food, beer and the desert. Our server who had served in the Marine Corps was outstanding. She could relate to Bob since he had served in the Navy.

Food was excellent, beer selection is good USA. Small and private, it is tastefully decorated in German decor with grain on the tables.
