Impressive decor. Food was well prepared and arrived quickly. The staff rushed a little too much. It was early not crowed and we told them we were not on a time schedule.

My son and I had the beef short ribs and my daughter and wife had the herb rubbed salmon. Both selections were wonderful. For dessert my family all had the raspberry beignets and I had the carrot cake and all were delicious! The wait staff was very attentive. Next time we come to NYC we will be eating here! Thanks Alex for the phenomenal experience!

Great food it was a hot day and it helped to be in a basement but atmosphere was superb food was delicious and service was fantastic!! The wine wasn’t bad either!

As a big fan of celebrity chef Alex I made it a point to visit Butter on my birthday trip to NYC. The experience was overall really lovely. We found ourselves done early with the day’s activities and the restaurant graciously accommodated our request to move up our reservation by an hour. Our server was amazing, super attentive and helpful and just plain fun. We really enjoyed her playful banter and her knowledge of the menu and NYC hotspots. We started with rolls that were Amazing and served with both sweet and herbed butter. We skipped the small plates to save room for dessert (glad we did) but the main course wasn’t as awesome as I would have hoped. In fairness, I ordered duck for the first time and was not a fan. So was it not great? Or was it just that turns out I don’t like duck? The flavor was lovely, and the fat beautifully rendered so the outside tasted like bacon, but I found the meat very tough and chewy and ultimately gave up eating it less than half done. One of our party ordered the short rib and it was delicious; melt in your mouth tender over cheesy polenta. She licked her plate clean. The other dish was a gorgeous double thick Smokey pork chop that was tender and tasty but a little unwieldy to eat, the knife may have needed to be sharpened! Dessert was a high note. We shared carrot cake with cinnamon gelato and raspberry beignets! The beignets were filled with warm raspberry jam with a side of crème anglaise for dipping. Messy and gooey but so delicious! I should also mention that we enjoyed a cocktail with our meal, and I remember enjoying it, although I’ve since forgotten what it was. The prices were fair for the overall experience. If I’m ever in Manhattan again will definitely return.

Everything was top-notch. Service was engaging but not intrusive…food was outstanding! Gnocchi mac and cheese and raspberry beignets some of the best food I’ve ever had. Alex and her team did not disappoint!

We were brought to the worst table in the way back under the air conditioning unit and music speaker which were both loud although the restaurant was empty. I asked to move and was denied at first.then I was finally moved after telling the waiter. We let them know we had to catch a play in an hour and a half and ordered. It took a half hour wait between the starter and mains although we asked that everything be put in at the start and brought out when ready. The waitress argued with us when we requested this. We had to ask for the bill five times before it was finally brought out.
