This is hard review to write as we frequent the establishment but it just must be said. Wife and myself went for dinner. Wife preferred the Halibut and she said it was excellent, it must of been as she ate it all. I ordered the shrimp and steak. I have had steaks here before and was good. This visit had the ribeye and it was very disappointing. Should have stayed with the filet which I have had before which has been good. The ribeye came as I ordered, medium rare. Although it was to order medium rare it was a brick. Weirdly hard as a rock. Difficult to cut through. Tast was ok but very chewed and tough, hard. Wife tried it and she is a steak eater but said the same thing, the piece was hard. I tried eating different areas of the steak and was hard all over. Only ate maybe 1/4th of it so wife gave me her side of pasta. The shape of the steak actually looked like a strip steak. Appetizer was so so also. Fried chees sticks that were cold, cheese was firm on melted. Meals come with the main dish, green bean mix which was excellent, starch side which we both choose pasta and that is excellent and a salad which was good also. Good value for the amount of food. Something was wrong with that steak, medium rare steaks usually soft to the touch and knife. Again this steal although was served correctly medium rare but it was a brick and hard to chew and very course. Although I brought it home it ended up being thrown out.

The restaurant was quite noisy and felt rather crowded. The food was good, as was the service.

This was our first trip to Buena Sera. We really enjoyed the good food and great service. Their Rosa sauce is tasty and not too spicey.

Our server Stacey was the best, she was a friendly and energetic. The noise level was very high for a dining experience.

Haven't been there since Covid. Noticed lots of budgetary changes that made it a bit less "upscale" as in the past. But the main course was delicious. Our Waitress was very friendly , overly efficient, not letting us linger over any course, on a very quiet evening. She was very well informed the menu. We will return.

I have been to Buona Sera several times with absolutely no issues and rave reviews but on this day I was treating a college friend (45 years old friendship) who had never been there. We were there at 5:00 and were excited to see each other. First we were told we were too loud. We were in the back room and nobody was there and then when other parties started showing up, (which was a big party and in my opinion way louder) Our server didn’t check on us. We were going to have one more celebratory drink. I had built up Buona Sera as this top notch small quaint place in Champlin but we didn’t feel very special. I have never had this experience before. Always a place friends want to return to and I was unfortunately disappointed and embarrassed as it was probably my friend’s only time there. I still gave a 4 star as I am hoping it was an off night. I’m only complaining because I really built it up. I still love Buona Sera but felt this didn’t live up to my expectations tonight.
