Just a few steps from the hustle and bustle of Yonge and Bloor, Bumpkin’s has been a local landmark since 1971, serving the very best in French continental cuisine with an old world Parisian feel. The newly updated two-story Victorian house has a handsomely sophisticated interior, featuring two fireplaces and a set of crystal chandeliers, that once graced the interior of the Royal York Hotel, and beautiful pieces of art throughout the restaurant.

During the spring and summer months, Bumpkins offers an outdoor dining experience on their terrace, complete with a view of Norman Jewison parkette. Distinct to the menu is a selection of masterfully conceived dishes ranging from the baked garlic butter escargot bourguignon to veal chop with mushrooms to the steamed fresh P.E.I mussels. All of the fine fair can be accompanied by a selection from the extensive cocktails and wine list.

                                Had a wonderful dinner at Bumpkin's with family. Don't let the name fool you. While not upscale chic, Bumpkins is traditional with outstanding service and food. Min was very welcoming and attentive to our family of 4 adults and 2 children (8 and 6). Min took our drink and soup order (hubby was hungry) while we waited for the rest of the family. When they came, he immediately brought 2 baskets of fresh bread right out of the oven to hold the kids over. The restaurant has a varied selection of meals but they specialize in steak and seafood. The French onion soup my husband ordered came out piping hot. He said it was very good and with the proper cheese used. We ordered our meals and they came out without much of a wait. Steaks were done to perfections for all of us (med. rare, medium and medium plus). Grandson asked for a kids menu which they don't have but Min said "yes, they can accommodate to whatever the kids wanted". Grandson received a beautiful plate of crispy fried chicken breast cut to look like chicken strips, with fresh steamed veggies and fries. Can't remember the other dinners but all were perfect - fresh and spiced well. Dessert was delicious- chocolate and coconut ice cream tartuffi with a variety of berries. Very good value for dollars spent. We'll definitely go back. Entire staff was professional, attentive and very personable.

                                Extremely accommodating, when I was running behind on my reservation. Food is amazingly prepared and is truly delicious, I will be back to try many other items on the menu.

                                Bumpkins was a great restaurant. We were seeing a show after dinner and they made sure that our dinner was done in time for us to make it to the show with time to spare. The food was great and the value was wonderful. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

                                We wanted a quiet Christmas dinner just for the two of us. This restaurant absolutely delivered all that and more. The initial greeting as you walked in was superb and inviting. Staff and owner was very attentive and made us feel like family, that was amazing. The recommendations on the food and drink was A+. We will definitely recommend and return for more laughs and great food/cocktails. Thank you for a wonderful experience Bumpkin.

                                Food and service was wonderful. Such a gem in our neighborhood. We were going to the Theater and they made sure we would have plenty of time to enjoy our dinner and be on time for the Theater. I would highly recommend Bumpkins

                                Exceptional service - the staff had set up our table in the best spot of the dining area with a birthday sign to greet us. Truly unexpected and made the night! The steak was delicious, which is what we came for. The ambiance and decor is very dated, which if you know the establishment, is expected.

                                What a lovely dinner, ambience and service it was at Bumpkin's...meal was tasty and delicious...3 course prix fixe menu was just right and well balanced for the price...which was good value, service was lovely and attentive, timing of food was just right An upgrade to the tiramisu was honored and was greatly appreciated!...the ambience was nice and cosy with a fireplace, nice decor throughout with lots of charm... Thanks for a lovely dinner!...Highly recommend!

                                Impeccable service. They obviously really care here. The food is delicious. I had steak, and it was cooked perfectly. We'll definitely be coming back.
