We pride ourselves on providing excellent food and service with locally sourced ingredients.

Why not come and spend the day in Thornhill, take a visit to a local landmark such as Drumlanrig Castle, learn more about our history, our strong connections to Robert Burns, and what makes this corner of the world so special.

Finish the day off perfectly with us in our cosy, stylish, yet informal dining spaces and lounge. We also have a Beer Garden, if outside is your thing too! It is is our pride and joy in the summer, and we would love for you to come and have a sun-soaked afternoon with us and enjoy the space as much as we do.

Menus on offer ; Main Restaurant Menu, Stone baked Pizza Menu (Thursday-Monday Sit-in/ Takeaway), Early Bird 2 courses for £13.95, 3 courses for £16.95 (Thursday - Monday, 5.30pm-6.30pm), Separate Vegetarian/Vegan/Gluten Free Menus are also available. Booking is recommended.

Food always amazing and tasty. The staff are always helpful and friendly and nothing too much trouble. We always take family and friends when they visit us and they always enjoy the food and the surroundings.

Booked for 5pm. Was shown to table immediately. 20 mins later arrived with menus to be told don't serve meals til 5.30. Why could we book at 5pm then. 10 mins later order was taken, then arrived 30 mins later soup and lamb kebab starters was enjoying soup til found long dark hair in it didn't continue. Main course was another 30 min wait. we were the only 2 dining, so don't know what delay was. Partner had pizza which he couldn't finish so got to take away. To find when we got home another long dark hair, needless to say this was binned. Bill arrived within seconds of asking for it. Quickest they had been all service. We paid and left. Will not be back.

Our booking was accepted, however on arrival we were put in “the Back Bar” which was dreary and dismal, not as expected, normally food is served in the main Dining Room which has a lovely open, airy aspect. Our booking should not have been accepted as the restaurant was fully booked. Very disappointing

We came for the Beef Wellington, sadly only had enough for 2 of our party so other two had to order their second choice, disappointed but quite enjoyed what they had. The 5th person in our group ordered the gnocchi, which wasn't particularly good & not enjoyed. Our first course did take over 1/2hour to arrive & main over hour from ordering. Another table of 4 had arrived after us had their meal & left even before we got our starters.

5 small hairs in my daughters dinner. Staff member Gemma very rude. Iv been here several times and had no issues before, plated were banged down infront of us 50 mins later for 2 starter courses. They then forgot to cook or bring my sisters dinner. Money was deducted after the waitress Gemma actually questioned if it was hair on the side plate where I had placed the 5 obvious hairs. This was clearly a personal issue she has with me and I will not be returning when she is on shift. Food was not to a good standard this night.

Mostly all dishes were tasty except the Halloumi dish. Service was good and timely. Nice quiet atmosphere.

Lovely lunch in the Bear Garden - food was excellent and service was attentive but not intrusive. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely Sunday lunch - perfectly cooked generous slices of beef, an excellent selection of vegetables and nice roasties and Yorkshire puddings. Too full to have individual puddings but shared a lemon posset which was also delightful. Staff were friendly and efficient and the bar was dog friendly. Very enjoyable - look forward to a return visit.

We had dinner on Sunday 28 April and had a really enjoyable meal. The food was wonderful and service excellent.
