Le restaurant le BRINE, connu pour ses huîtres fraîches, ses aliments « crudo », et ses côtelettes est le deuxième projet du groupe Caswell Restaurant sur la scène culinaire éclectique de la Nouvelle-Angletterre dans la ville de Newburyport, MA. La propriétaire du BRINE, Nancy Batista-Caswell, apprécie particulièrement les produits locaux en plus d'aimer spécialement les classiques européens. Elle consacre donc toute son attention afin de créer des fruits de mer savoureux, des « ceviche », des « crudo », des sashimis, etc. Le tout avec une bonne dose d'influences espagnoles et italiennes. Ce ne sont pas que les plats populaires qui sont servis au BRINE. On peut également y déguster des soupes, des salades ainsi que des plats du jour ne se retrouvant pas sur le menu habituel afin de proposer le plus de variété possible. Ce restaurant de quartier accueille tout le monde sans exception et on y retrouve une ambiance sans prétention. Le design discret et les normes élevées dans la qualité du service offert permettent à la nourriture de briller de par elle-même. Le directeur Mackenzie Campbell et son équipe sont toujours à votre service et prêts à vous recommander un choix aventureux, une bonne bouteille de vin ou un excellent dessert sucré.

Well everything looked absolutely delicious, sadly almost every dish was under salted/seasoned. The first dish that came out, the hamachi was so bland, without a hint of salt, I figured that maybe the finishing salt was accidentally missed on our plates and that the next dishes wouldn't suffer the same misfortune but sadly that wasn't the case - The lobster soup tasted so bland although it had so much potential to be excellent. At this point I actually had to go get a salt shaker from one of the wait staff for our table. I can't remember the last time that I had to salt any of my food in a restaurant. The chorizo calamari pasta had saltiness from the chorizo but sadly the sauce tasted like there was no seasoning and it whatsoever. I was really excited about this meal and drove an hour and a half only to have left feeling a little disappointed especially after paying a very large bill. The service was very good and the atmosphere was great ...

If you're looking for a unique seafood & steak restaurant Brine is for you. The food is always amazing. The staff is always wonderful. The only problem with Brine is that they are an hour away from us. I would be remiss if I did not mention the Salmon Wellington I had for my entree. Salmon is not my favorite fish but this sounded so incredible I had to take a chance. I was not disappointed. So many wonderful flavors baked in a pastry with a salmon filet. This was our third time bringing friends to Brine. We enjoy it by ourselves but it is a great place to take friends you want to impress

Excellent food and welcoming, attentive service. This is our go to place for great food and an enjoyable night in our community of Newburyport. Love the staff and credit to the chef for creativity, nuance and freshness.

The food at Brine never disappoints. Their novel flavor combinations and frequently rotating menu keeps us coming back. Service and ambiance is delightful also.

We’ve been to Brine a few times. It’s one of our favorite Newburyport restaurants. We went for lunch. We started with some oysters. So good!!! They were fresh and delicious. The next course was the caviar service. The blinis were freshly made and the accoutrements were well-prepared. My one complaint would be that there was only one spoon - for two people. Picayune, but I was hungry! 😋. We then shared two small plates - the tagliatelle cacio e pepe and the bacon and eggs. The tagliatelle should’ve been warmer and I would’ve preferred fresh grated pepper, but it was good tasting and creamy. The bacon and eggs weren’t as good as they could be …. The oysters were perfect , the poached egg was remarkably perfect, the bacon was over done, and I can’t recall having any salsa verde.- but that didn’t stop me from eating every bite! I will be sure to try them again the next time I go …. For dessert, we had the pineapple sorbet. It wasn’t very pineapply …. I wouldn’t need to try that again. Our server was awesome. He was very familiar with the menu and was able to make knowledgeable recommendations. We sat I. The window - it was open and the weather was beautiful! So nice!

Four dear friends enjoyed a great evening out at Brine. We started with 18 oysters (on special before 6:30!) and cocktails then moved onto main courses…the lobster lo mein was faved about as was the lamb plate (perfectly cooked with delicious sauces!) and the tuna was amazing too. Thank you for a lovely satisfying evening out for our group of good friends.
