Boar's Head Grill & Tavern, Savannah's first restaurant on Historic River Street, has been a favorite for locals and tourists the past 50 years.
Locally owned and operated by Live Oak Restaurant Group, Boar's Head offers casual, waterfront dining in a unique restored cotton warehouse built in the 1800's.

Specializing in the finest USDA aged steaks, chops, local seafood and sinfully delicious desserts, Boars Head Staff and the General Manager Will caters to every diner's needs. We had the bacon wrapped shrimp for an appet--yum. My husband got the sandwich and I had the warm chicken salad sandwich, which was amazing with the melted havarti. We got the bourbon pecan pie and a bowl of the she-crab soup Togo, so those 2 haven't been tasted yet. Our server, Chris, was very good. We'll definitely go back.

Great restaurant. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Food came in a very timely manner. We will definitely visit again!!

We dined with a party of 6, half of the group got the special which was pan seared trout. All loved it! I got salmon dish which was delicious! And 2 had stuffed shrimp which also was very good! Server was great and everyone was very nice

My drink, Savannah sunset, was tasty. I enjoyed my appetizer of BBQ shrimp. My main course was swordfish. I was disappointed. The asparagus and baked potato were good. I enjoyed the service and climate.

The food was mediocre at best and overpriced- as you’d expect on River Street. Our appetizer never arrived (was rightfully removed from the bill) and the wrong entree was rang in. Entree was fixed, but we were charged for the more expensive l, wrong entree. The server was stressed even though it wasn’t super busy. There are definitely better places to eat on River Street.

We are local, so we know not to even try anything on the River St side of the town, but obviously this heat has taken the common sense out of my brain for me to give this place a try. Everything was terrible from the host to the food. We were sitting literally in the hallway to begin with. Our server obviously HATES her job, she was the WORST server ever, Waffle House has better servers than her. Food….. don’t even get me started. Oyster Rockefeller? Where did oysters actually go? Yes, they cook down but how did they manage to make them disappear?! Salmon was so dry to the point it crumbled apart. Savannah chicken salad? Haha okay, not sure what was Savannah about it since the chicken was so dry and BURNED. Drinks? Did they even put any alcohol in their drinks?! We wasted $90 with 20% tips included in something I barely touched and our friends paid to learn a lesson about not eating at any of the establishments on the river street area.

Wonderful restaurant. Food was delicious and reasonable priced (good value for the money). We had a window table so we could see the river. The room was very nice but a little loud (old building so I am sure acoustics not very good). Service was good. We were very pleased with our experience. We highly recommend this restaurant.
