We are a BYOB restaurant!

Welcome to Black Lab Bistro. We trust healthy food make happy life. Our mission is to provide a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. It is a perfect destination for you to spend the time with the boss, getting together with old friends or date night with that special someone. We have 3-course prix-fixe for $25, Serving from Sunday to Thursday. Our menu items including braised beef short ribs, lump crab cakes, duck and scallops are must haves. Diners are invited to bring their own wine, beer or champagne.

I had the lamb and my wife had Bronzino …both very well done. Flourless chocolate cake was great, too. Service was perfect. Great value!

Our dinner was delicious. The service was excellent. We hadn't been here for several years just because there are so many new places to try, but Black Lab can be counted on for well prepared for and excellent service.

Hadn't been to the Black Dog in a while - glad we returned. Everything was very nice. Crab cakes were spot on - Bronzino was excellent. Tuna tartare was very good. Definitely still a winner, and nice that it's still a BYOB.

Food was excellent as always but our service was terrible. From the time we received our appetizers until the time our entrees arrived was nearly one and a half hours. Understandable if it was crowded but it was not - plenty of empty tables. However, the worst part was our server never checked on us during that entire time. We had to flag someone else down to find out where our food was and WE had to ask for some bread to hold us over. When it came time for the check, our server put it down on our table with no thank you, no apologies, not a word. Very disappointing especially since we brought friends who never ate there before because we told them it was one of our favorite restaurants.

The fried chicken sandwich and short rib omelette are absolutely amazing! The food and service here are absolutely top notch and the restaurant has a very homey vibe to it. There’s parking in the back so we didn’t have to worry about parking on the street. I can’t wait to come back!

Black lab was such a cozy and welcoming spot that may be a new date night favorite! It seems to be family owned and every aspect of the experience was outstanding. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu just superbly attentive throughout the night, even helping us take pictures! (we were seated by their lovely brick wall) For appetizers I had the wontons which were delicious and my boyfriend could not stop raving about the fried brussle sprouts. Then for entrees, I had the sea bass tacos which were super well balanced with perfectly flaky sea bass but the true star of the show was my boyfriend’s crab cakes. We have NEVER had crab cakes that good. Thick chunks of lump crab, crispy exterior and the remoulade sauce just tied it all together. At this point we were stuffed but really want to try the dessert after hearing it was all made in house and boy did it not disappoint. We shared Tiramisu and it was phenomenal. Left with happy tummies for sure!

This is what I posted on YELP. I also included the pick of the steak. "First, I will say that the service and the appetizer was very good, which is why I gave it two stars. Otherwise it would have only received one. My friend and I shared the calamari appetizer which was excellent. For entree’s I had the (almost 40.00) ribeye and she ordered the chicken piccata. If you look at the attached photo of my steak then no other explanation is really necessary, it was pathetic. Full of fat, no more than a quarter inch thick and tasted and looked like it was boiled. I barely ate it. The piccata was paper (literally) thin chicken that was over cooked to the point of cardboard and it had about as much flavor. We both left very disappointed and agree we will never go back. The place is VERY noisy but again if the food had been good that really wouldn’t have mattered. I wish I could remember the servers name because she was very good."
