Phenomenal food. Great service. One minor flaw: size and position of dining chairs! They are big and difficult to manoeuvre since tables are placed so close to one another.

We had a less than average evening at Bistro du Midi. Our table wasn't ready when we arrived so we were seated at the bar. Whilst the bar itself wasn't busy, there were a lot of orders and it took a long time to get a menu, nevermind a drink. After 20mins or so, we were taken to our table and ordered some wine. It then took a long time for anyone to come to take our food order. We ordered oysters to start and some plates were brought out. The plates were very hot and I would say raw seafood and hot plates are not a good combination!! After our mains (the duck was excellent), it took a long time for the plates to be cleared and even longer for anyone to ask if we would like to see the dessert menu. When we were offered it, we declined; it would likely take far too long. For much of the evening, servers were stood in groups of two or three and they were not doing anything. The service (or lack of...) really ruined our night out and although we live 20mins from the restaurant, we won't be returning.

Bistro du Midi was one of the best restaurants I have been to. We were a group of 8 celebrating my 75th birthday. The ambiance is wonderful. It is quiet and intimate. Our server Jose was just wonderful. His knowledge of the menu was superb. He was an absolute delight. This was one of the best meals I have had. The food is simply amazing. It was the perfect evening for celebrating my birthday. I would definitely recommend Bistro du Midi. It is pricey, but worth every dollar when celebrating a special occasion.

Everything was good until the very end. Our bill came to $620. I left server &10 on the check & $140 in cash. Unfortunately ( not exactly sure how), but server completely missed that cash in the check presenter! As we were leaving we got starred down by the manager & the server who was holding the check in his hand. I read the situation & I could tell he was under impression that he only got $10. I went back & asked if he saw the cash. His reply was no nothing was there. I was told by manager “ We have lots of Europeans that assume tip is included” I was standing there in very uncomfortable situation as I was waiting for server to look around. I had to tell manager to look thru check presenters , and sure enough money was there!!! There was no apology or anything of that sort. Very disappointed to say the lease & will never go there again!!

Upstairs dining resembles little to a bistro They sat us with bench seating and the table was above my chest. Very uncomfortable and a terrible seat within the restaurant. Why is that? Server, while friendly, was over zealous and rushed us through dinner. 2 minutes after seating he asked what wine we wanted. Halibut was excellent. Duck, while good, was coupled with rice cake. Probably would not order again or return. Too many other options.

This was an excellent dining experience. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. The menu was explained well and we were impressed with the extensive wine list. The food was delicious. Every plate was prepared with care and throughly enjoyed. Will be back on our next trip to Boston.

The food here is excellent! We all (4 people) enjoyed every dish we ordered (halibut and salmon). The shrimp cocktail had the largest shrimp (much more like giant prawns) I have ever seen in a restaurant anywhere! The desert was something so unusual and delicious-all I know is that it had a fruit called quince in it! Highly recommend!

We’re seated in a small room off main dining Room. Large and extremely loud group dining In same small room. These people were so Loud I couldn’t hear my friend seating across From me. We ordered 1 beet salad very good. 1 halibut fish was dry. Duck was undercooked Instead or medium it was RARE skin no crisp. No time to send back since we had 8 pm tickets To a show. Very disappointed overall. Won’t Be back

I cannot think of a meal out in Boston that I would prefer more to sitting outside at Bistro du Midi! Lunch was fabulous. My friend had mussels and loved every last bite. I had yet another yummy omelette and substituted spinach for arugula and opted for goat cheese. Thank you! Service was outstanding!
