Bistro du Midi is a wonderful restaurant! The service,food, and setting are all excellent. Because it offers both a dinner and a Bistro menu (the latter on the lovely first floor only), there are choices at a variety of price points. It's one of my favorite Boston restaurants, and I also love taking out of town visitors there.

We have been loyal customers for many years, and though we responded with an overall 5 for our last visit, we offer following as constructive feedback: 1) the braided bread basket was unimpressive and did not seem fresh; 2) the special espresso soufflé was disappointing - overly sweet, could feel grains of sugar in my mouth. Couple disappointments, but otherwise outstanding- see you on Thanksgiving!

Perfection! Bistro du Midi is my FAVORITE neighborhood gem, and probably my favorite restaurant in Boston! I brought friends to celebrate their recent engagement. Bistro du Midi was SO gracious to us! This is typical, but they went the extra mile - wrote congratulations on the dessert plates, treated the bride to be and her fiancé to cappuccino. It felt like such a sweet celebration for all of us! We enjoyed beautiful salads, omelettes, and I’d arranged with the manager for a special dessert which was beautiful. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

Something was happening in town last night as dining room was packed and noisy at 6:30pm. Service was slow as a result but the food was superb and the staff very nice.

We received a warm welcome. The staff was attentive but didn’t rush us. We had a wonderful lunch and hope to go back soon.

Very loud seating outside for lunch right on Boylston St. My guest ordered a beet salad and questioned if the salad had meat. The server was unfamiliar with the term “fougasse” but said it was definitely not meat, but didn’t mention that “lardons” was basically bacon. The salad had to be sent back. The fries are now seasoned and not very good. The omelet was also not nearly as good as it used to be. The server was at our table after every sip of water which was very disruptive. Very disappointing visit.

The price of the food does not match the quality of food and service provided. It feels a client pays for the location and not necessarily for the food quality. Although the service person was nice, the service was very slow (and I overheard a couple next to us having the same observation). For that price, the filet mignon was too chewy. My partner's dish did not come with all the fixings as described in the menu. Dessert took for ever even though it was requested when ordering the meal to plan on it to come out right after the main dish. Portion size was good. View is nice as long as you sit close to the windows. Overall, we are not planning to return to this place.
