We had reservations and got sat quickly. That was the end of the great service. We were expecting a slower service due to being New Years but honestly the service was lacking. Our server barely acknowledged our existence. We had to flag him down to order drinks after ours sat empty for longer than expected. (Tables next to us got water refilled and additional drinks in this time) he was not friendly at all. The goat cheese appetizer was the best thing we had. My Wedge salad was crisp and fresh. Husband had the prime rib sandwich and the prime rib was so tough and lacked any flavor. His fries were good. The French Onion Soup was scorched so bad it was not edible. They did take it off the check but I couldn’t believe the small cup of soup that was placed in front of me was $17! Even if it had been good not sure the value was there. We never got our water refilled even though we asked twice. This is the first place we’ve eaten where my husband said he wouldn’t come back.

Our server was always one step before us of what we were thinking to order. He gave the love of my life, girlfriend, a choice of red or white clam chowder or crab chowder. He also offered a tasting of 2 Pinot gris. Rombauer is what my lovely chose. For our entree she had the Crab Loise and I choose the Crab avocado, tomato and sour dough bread sandwich. The dinner was delightful. Mark G.

Very good experience: very good food, comfortable bench, nice and fast service but some waiting time despite reservation (was Sunday).....

We went to the Bistro 10 minutes ahead of our seating to learn that our reservation was not on theirs schedule!!! Apparently their on line reservation were closed for a day regardless we made our way ahead of time. They were very hostile and rude and told us we could wait 45 minutes to be seated or leave! Even though I shoved my reservation confirmation on the phone, they didn't care... Beware of this place !!!

Disappointing dinner for Christmas Day. Very much a ‘no frills’ restaurant but doesn’t sell itself as that. Absolutely hectic downstairs at the cafe when you walk in and then upstairs in the bistro it’s very busy also. A good sign you would think…but no. Food is ok, but just ok. We didn’t get plate with meatball starter, so had to eat them off the side bread plates. Then we had to ask for clean cutlery for the main. Then handed a bundle of cutlery sets with linen and then the extra ones were just left on the corner of our table. Just weird, it’s like the staff have no idea how to wait tables in a restaurant. The clincher was we were handed the bill before we asked for it or had the chance to order desert. We were polite and didn’t complain, not the wait staff’s fault they obviously don’t receive any training and have no experience. Might be ok for a quick lunch but definitely not an ‘occasion’.
