Our server was awesome and attentive. They were short staff with their chefs so it took a little longer to get our food started. The server did make us aware of this situation. We were taking someone from out of the country to experience hibachi for the 1st time. Our chef was lack luster and seemed overworked and tired so we didn't get much flair. I understand it is their 1,000 time performing but for some patrons it is their 1st time. The restaurant definitely needed a make over. Paint chipping sticky carpet and overall blah for the area(Short Hills). Food had flavor but so definitely overly salty.

We always love coming to Benihana specifically for the food. It is always delicious and we always walk away satisfied. The chicken fried rice is our favorite!! Only thing that happens every time we come is we never get seated close to our reservation time and everything takes a long time. Our reservation was 7:30pm and we didn’t end up eating until close to 9pm. It seemed like they were short staffed for the amount of people being served that night as well. I will 100% be back but I’m starting to get upset with the service.

There was a 40min wait for us to be server. The food wasn't good hard rice and no flavor very bland. I am a frequent customer at this restaurant over 19 times in 8 months I need Benihana to offer me a a refund or a diner for free.

The food was overpriced for the lack of quality and the main attraction was the chef who was hardly audible and didn’t do even one trick other than the basic onion on fire. We have better hibachi options for our kids that cost way less.

Benihana’s offers great, consistent service and experience. The staff all seem to work together seamlessly to deliver a pleasant experience for guests. My party of 9 were both entertained, well-served (not overly attentive), and well fed with the portions. This has become a go-to for multiple friends and family birthday outings.

We had 7:30 reservations, and were not seated until 8:30. Drinks were $15 each and were very poor quality, no bartending was used, just drinks poured from pre-prepared pitchers. Servers were inattentive and missing most of the night. The food was prepared very poorly and there was little to no interaction with the cook, which is the main reason you go to a Hibachi restaurant. Salads were soggy and not crisp lettuce, they were also warm.

Loved the experience every time we go. Advice is go early it gets very noisy when it fills up. Also did not have the green tea as their filtration system was not working. Great presentation and a lot of food for the money

The wait was almost 45 minutes to get a table even with a reservation a week in advance. It still took almost 30 min for the water and appetizers to get to the table. The chef was great but took too long to actually start on our table. There is no reason to get to the venue 6:45 for a 7pm reservation and we didn't get seated until 7:40 and didn't leave until after 10pm...Great experience with the food and show but we'll never be back there again. The extensive wait didn't make the whole night worth it unfortunately.
