Hadn't been to a Benihana in 20 years but wanted to do something a bit "retro" for a girls' night out with 6 friends. Not much has changed -- in a good way! The 5-course meal around the teppanyaki grill table was delightful and the food was delicious. (I still like that ginger dressing on the salad!) Two of us shared the Hibachi steak and Hibachi Scallops so we could taste both and had nice portions of each. Saw the same old school chef tricks and flips of shrimp into his hat -- but appreciated the nostalgia of it all. Overall, it was good time for a group outing.

We made a reservation for a medium group, as it was a birthday. I noted that in the reservation, and the server confirmed it when we were seated. And then did nothing. The chef was also very lackluster… he didn’t do any of the usual tricks, either—no spinning eggs, no heart beating rice. It was a group of kids and teens, so we were kind of expecting the showy aspects. The food was fine, but overall it was a really disappointing time.

Don’t try to use your birthday certificate. Also was told multiple times while paying with card and selection $0 tip, and had cash out in hand that tip wasn’t included in the total and I must tip on card…

Don’t order sushi!!! The hot sauce was basically ketchup on some disgusting pre-frozen fried shrimp

We are hibachi fans and this was probably our worst experience ever. To begin our reservation was 6:45 PM and we were not served nor did they begin to start taking our order until 7:45 PM. My partner is pescatarian so we made mention that he does not eat chicken and wanted to sub the chicken For shrimp fried rice. However, the cook mixed all the chicken into the rice and when we said something about it, he then started to pick out the chicken from the rice of course that was not acceptable and let him know that he would have to remake the rice to only shrimp fried rice, the food was poorly seasoned, and the portions are very small for the cost. Overall, we will never go to a Benihana again. Cook tried to perform however, none of his skills were up to par. None of the tricks were entertaining, but that’s probably due to his personality, this may not be the best position for him.
