First things first, I’m a New Yorker and I’m used to going to Benihana‘s in New York, which is a great experience. I’ve also dined at Benihana‘s in Washington DC and that’s my favorite Benihana‘s. I have a special cook or chef. His name is Ceasar and he is awesome. I’ve also dined at Benihana‘s in short Hills New Jersey and that’s pretty good. However, this Cherry Hill location is the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I would advise anyone who’s been to any other Benihana or anyone who’s never been to one Benihana’s to never ever ever go to this location, it’s terrible. The grills were dirty. The plates were greasy. The place had air conditioners scattered around on the floor. My chair had food on it and there was food under the tables and my chef had a Band-Aid on his nose that covered his entire nose why is this guy cooking, that’s ridiculous. When you first walk into the restaurant the carpet and the lobby is dirty. Turns me off immediately and although they may have been smiling, the two girls in the front look like they worked at McDonald’s not trying to be mean but this location did not have a professional look, it was so disappointing. I’ll never go there again and I would advise anyone who’s thinking about going to go somewhere else a huge disappointment and it was way too expensive extremely expensive and the food was not good. Just don’t do it.

He’s been coming here for years. We do birthday celebrations as a tradition. This may be the last one that we do. The service was fabulous The chef was good, but you could tell he was overwhelmed by the demand. The room was filled with portable air conditioners. It was very warm in the area. The station as people left we’re not cleaned and there were gloves all over the floor. I don’t like writing reviews like this because we’ve had many great years, but Benihana‘s needs to fix the issue of staffing and cleanliness before I come back, and pay the amount of money to have dinner there.

Our reservation was for 8:30pm, we didn't get seated til 9:30pm, but the chef was no where to be seen til 10pm (the time they are supposedly closed by). The manager made excuses about large parties not getting up, but it was clear that it was that he didn't book that many chefs. I saw him berate the staff members while 4 tables awaited chefs. We asked for sugar packets and a fork for the soup and salad courses that arrived before the chef did. We had to walk to the bar to ask for them since the staff didn't bring them after 15 minutes because they were being berated by the Manager. The manager gave us two $10 gift cards at the end of our night, but that was too little too late. It was CLEARLY his fault for the badly run restaurant. The only reason that this review isn't entirely bad is because our chef Frank really made up for the lack of attention that we got from the management. We had planned on getting alcoholic drinks and really celebrating the reason we had come to Benihana but ended up getting just the meals since it was such a disappointing experience until Frank the chef arrived. We were considering just paying for the soup/salad and leaving since it had taken so long to get a chef. Frank was SOO GOOD that it made up for the frustration we experienced. We tipped him 50% of our bill in gratitude for his personal touch to make our night better. CHEF FRANK = 5 STARS MANAGER = ZERO STARS

We had made a reservation and we arrived we were informed that it would a half hour wait on top of our arrival time. We did wait one full hour to get our table. We waited another hour before our chef came over. The food was good and the staff was nice but the wait was extremely too long.

It was horrible. The restaurant just needs to be shut down at this point. My whole table got up to leave and no we didn’t all come together. The air condition is broken so they have these portable air conditioners in there with water hoses hanging out the window. There’s no exhaust in there that properly works. I spoke with the general manager who told me the mother board is broke for the air conditioners. They are not even operating at 50% at this point. Being money hungry. Just shut down. It was so smoky in there on a day when it was 94 degrees outside. The food can’t be fresh because it’s so hot in there. Beware. Don’t go

Was supposed to be a birthday celebration. Left out of pure frustration. Poor ventilation so smoke was blowing in customers faces, drinks took at least 40-50 minutes and we didn’t even get the waters, tabletops were greasy along with silverware. Didn’t receive salads/soups until we were standing up to leave. Service members came back to the table at least 3 times to confirm the order although the server had written it down in front of us. I don’t plan to go back to this location. End up going to hibachi at Kabuki about 6 minutes away. Was served instantly in a pleasant and clean environment

I am not sure if the service was off due to being father’s day and we went a little late 9:30 pm reservation but we were not happy with our experience. This was our first time eating here, we usually eat at Arirang and thought to give this a try. Totally different. Our person taking the drinks was really nice, and our chef but we were told they do not do any tricks, no throwing and catching of the food. The chicken lacked taste and no ice cream (only for the kids) very few selection of food and higher in price. Also the person who brought out the check and any additional items we asked for looked miserable and was not friendly. The lace seemed to have a lot of young people working and you can hear them complaining to each other about their shift and lack of supplies. We will not be returning.

A surprise Father’s Day’s dinner for my husband and stepdad turned out great. Leo was a great chef our food was really good.

Restaurant and restrooms were very dirty. Not much of a performance from chef. Service was extremely slow.
