We ate dinner at Anchorage Benihana last night and enjoyed it immensely. Dawson was our chef and he was great.

The service was outstanding with our waitress on her very first day working. Such a sweet and caring lady. I've had Danny as a chef before and his service and show was exceptional as it always is. Compared to other chefs we saw while looking around, Danny was very entertaining, and his skills were amazing. The only concern was a very rowdy crowd in the corner next to us. I would say very boisterous and obnoxiously loud at times. Once they left, we could have normal conversions without having to shout at each other. Other than that, our experience was great, and the food was very tasty.

Our chef was not so into the big “hibachi show”, he attempted a couple of tricks but failed (very mildly). It was definitely a lot less than many of the other chefs usually do, but I’m not complaining! I actually really enjoyed the milder, more tame version that this experience brought. It felt more intimate, which was really nice since I had my you g family with me. The chef was very professional, and his food fully met the quality and standards I would expect from Benihana. The chef is incredibly important to the whole experience, so I hope Benihana keeps our chef for as long as they can. 10/10, DELICIOUS FOOD!

I have been eating at Benihana’s for over 15 years with my family and friends. I was surprised and extremely disappointed in our dining experience. I know how the experience works. You get a small salad, soup, veggies, chicken fried rice in our case, seafood and then steak. We received no salad, after he cooked the vegetables, I literally could fit all the vegetables on my plate in a tablespoon. When I asked the chef about it, he said he would cook some more, but he never did. Normally, we get the rice next but he never cooked the rice until second to last, so we literally had nothing to eat on our plates for over half of that dinner. He cooked the seafood and when he was done, I told him that he forgot my lobster so he had to go back into the kitchen, which he had to do two or three times because he had forgotten something. So again, I’m sitting there with nothing on my plate. After he cooked my lone lobster that he forgotten he cooked the chicken fried rice, which is something that we should’ve been able to be eating the whole time he was cooking in front of us. Instead, our plates were empty. He eventually did do the chicken fried rice and then our steaks. This is the first time I’ve ever left your restaurant feeling frustrated and actually still hungry when I left. My bill before tip was over $180 and that included a $30 birthday gift certificate. I can’t emphasize how extremely disappointed I am.

Unfortunately, our Chef did not make our fried rice correctly. It was very bland, we think he forgot an ingredient or two. In addition, there were eggshells in the rice. When I called and brought this up with the Manager he was more concerned with the eggshells than he was about the flavor. He simply said thank you and did not offer any type of compensation to me. I was disappointed as Benihana is an expensive restaurant to not back their food with what a customer expects and has paid for.

Prices have increased significantly, as all prices have, but when I go to Benihana the food is good, but not the best cuts of meat like I'd expect at a steakhouse. I go and PAY the prices I do for the food AND the show. Last 2 times I've been the chef made the onion flame up and spun 4 eggs on his spatula. Entertainment over and proceeded to just cook and serve. If I'm taking my family out again, it'll be to a legitimate steakhouse that serves food worthy of the price. To not absolutely be ugly, the service was exceptional. Vig was by our table what seemed like every 2 minutes and not a drink was allowed to get below halfway before asking if she could fill it. All staff were very good.

Our chef, Bradley, was super friendly and fun. And our server was super awesome. I can’t recall her name, but she was a star and had fun with our table. Made our son’s birthday night a success.
