Bienvenue chez Benihaba, un restaurant qui vous propose une expérience culinaire hors du commun !     We have been going to the Anaheim Benihana's for at least 30+ years. The food & service is always very good. Kind of an expensive habit, but the $30 birthday coupon helps. & lunch is a pretty good deal for quality food. It always a nice dinner & "show", something the kids, who are now adults, still love. so, we recommend the chain and especially this locaation.

    Every year for our family’s birthdays we visit Benihana. The experience was great, our server was little off. Came over to check on our table and didn’t have much information to offer. He kept shouting out to other servers to get information on what he was just asked or offered. In addition, he didn’t bring out enough containers or bags for everyone and seemed confused on why we asked for more? Overall, we still had a great time.

    Three of us went to Benihana in Anaheim for my son's birthday. I haven't been there in years and my memory was of one teppan grill with a few people around it. Since it was Tuesday I even worried that there might not be many people, making less of a celebratory occasion. Boy was I wrong! There were so many 8 person tables throughout the various rooms crammed together to the point that each chef was bumping butts with the chef at the next table. Getting the food carts into the tiny cramped space where they were cooking was quite a feat! And the noise level---OMG! I was shouting into the ear of the person next to me and vise-versa and we could not hear each other at all. I couldn't believe that there were so many people on a Tuesday--it was packed! Great for Benihana, but it makes for a loud crowd and was impossible to socialize. The food was OK but the amount of the main meal was not consistent with the price charged. Our choices were 5 and 6 course meals including watery onion soup, iceberg salad, sliced zucchini, 3 small shrimp for appetizers, 2 types of sauces (actually the largest serving of anything) rice, (fried rice was extra) and the main protein. My husband ordered steak and scallops and he enjoyed it. I had chicken, a very small portion, and my son had tuna. No complaints about the flavors. $35-50 was a typical meal, some meals cost even more, and the substance of what you really got was a very small amount of meat, a bowl of rice. It was 1.5 hours before we got our main protein. Dessert wasn't included, but we got a scoop of ice cream for the birthday boy. Our chef didn't put on much of a show, (if he said his name I couldn't hear it) Believe it or not I hate giving bad reviews. The concept of the restaurant is good, but cramming in so many tables makes for a very uncomfortable meal.

    Our Reservation was for 7:30 they let us know they were running behind 20 minutes. Our entire party got there by 7:35 and we didn’t get seated till 8:00pm. It could of been an off night and it seemed like almost every party was celebrating something including ourselves. Overall great experience from service to chef.

    My kids love going to Benihana. We decided on a whim to take them and were lucky there was a reservation available. The food is always good and our cook was really great.

    The food and service was great. The issue that we had was the fans that were blowing a lot of air and cooled our dinner before we could get 1/2 way done. We had to take our food home and heat it there and finish it.

    We have been long-time patrons of Beninhana in Anaheim. We celebrate all of our families birthdays there and have been doing so for the past 20+ years. Sadly, our latest experience was the worst we've ever had, and it was so bad we are unlikely to return unless management gives us a reason to do so. Apart from the wait being 1.5 hours past our reservation time, our main issues were wtih the experience and with the quality of the food. I'll start with the food. Our chef was clearly new to cooking. Generally, the food was bland, overcooked and undercooked across our meals. For example, the fried rice, the pride and joy of Benihana, tasted like something we could have bought in a freezer section of a grocery store. The onions and carrots were not cooked long enough, so there was an unpleasant crunch to the rice. The rice lacked flavor, seasoning and taste. Parts of the rice were black and burned and my son winced at eating it. Moving onto the steaks and chicken and shrimp and scallops. All of which were very bad. The steaks were underseasoned, and when we asked for them to be rare, our chef flashed them for 30 seconds and served it to my son raw. There were parts of the steak that we were uanble to eat. Our chef asked us if the temperature of our chicken was to our liking. That is odd as chicken is either cooked or not. This gave us concern that he didn't know what he was doing. Lastly, the scallops and shrimps were overcooked, unnecessarily charred and rubbery to eat. Our mushrooms sat in a pile for 5 minutes and were served to us uncooked and cold. The zucchini was drenched with soy sauce and undercooked and soggy to where there were no grill marks at all on the zucchini spears. Lastly, the chef was unable to entertain well. As we were watching other tables laugh at egg art and trains and flames, our chef attempted to make a train that fizzled out and no other food spectacles were seen. Severly unwhelming and unjustified.

    We were seated within 5 minutes. Our orders were taken, soup and salad were delivered 20 minutes later. The chef did not appear until 1/2 hr after we finished our salad. The chef forgot about my shellfish allergy and put shrimp near my food. We reminded him and he immediately took it off and cleaned his utensils. Saved me a trip to the er.
