Belga is such a wonderful place: starts with the warm welcome from the staff, a menu with so many delicious choices it’s tough to decide, and friendly attentive service, and then the star of the show the delicious food! The menu claims “the best steak tartare in DC” and that is no idle boast—it is outstanding. Two of us had the monkfish special with roasted cauliflower, cauliflower puree and a light curry sauce. Delicious. Fish was moist and firm, and the sauce tied together the fish and the two cauliflowers. Thank you, Belga, for a wonderful dinner—food, service, and atmosphere all outstanding!

We love Belga, it is our go-to neighborhood restaurant. We love the Belgian cuisine, They do a lovely job with seasonal hand-crafted cocktails and have an amazing wine list. We shared the lobster waffle (just amazing! -- a savory waffle with lots of intensely flavored lobster part bits over a drizzle of lobster bisque, and some greens) as a starter. As our entree we had the paella, which I have to say was disappointing: the rice was on the mushy side, more like a risotto, and the dish as a whole was overly salty. I guess that's what you get for ordering a Spanish dish in a Belgian restaurant! For dessert my husband had a chocolate confection that he declared delicious, and I had a scoop of raspberry-basil sorbet which was absolutely amazing. I would score the cocktails, appetizer and desserts each as A+, and maybe a B-/C+ for the paella.

We had a "first timer" with us and she LOVED it. Of course the repeat visitors enjoyed it as well, but it's so much fun introducing folks to one of Capitol Hill's gems!

The food and staff were amazing! Everyone was so kind and the food was lovely to look at and even better to taste. I've already told several people at work about this restaurant! The lamb was mouth watering, the waffle and ice cream A+ and excellent wine choices. Can't wait to go again...but this time we won't accidently knock over a glass of wine. Sorry to the lady whose purse took the brunt of the red wine! Everyone was so nice, that was embarrassing :)
